Gov Hooka 8,008
The problem is that teen girls are what's driving pop album sales right now. Let's use a little honestly in this situation and just admit that Gaga has been giving off the persona of a 50 year old grandma since BTW. She started out as this hip, cool, and fierce girl with star power. She's completely ditched that image. Just take a look below: No wonder girls are buying Prism. At least you could believe that Katy is even in her 20's. That's not how a majority of the teenage girls i know see her as. She's still hip and singing teenagery topics (GUY, Do What U Want, MANiCURE, Sexxx Dreams, Gypsy say hello)
Dean Winchester 197
they let eminem release his album one week before gaga's.... and she almost got #2 because of him. i feel like interscope's treating eminem as their biggest star this era instead of gaga

craig 680
I hope Gaga can do another 40k on Soundscan this week There is no reason why not. Maybe even a slight increase as Xmas nears. HDD predicted it 33% under her actual figure this time last week.

Tommymonster44 0
That's not how a majority of the teenage girls i know see her as. She's still hip and singing teenagery topics (GUY, Do What U Want, MANiCURE, Sexxx Dreams, Gypsy say hello) 1) I'm not saying that her music boring. Her music is as fun, catchy, pop, and cutting edge as ever. I'm only saying that her persona that is promoting the music is like a grandma. I don't know what teenage girls your talking about, but the ones I know are discussing Catching Fire and Roar. Not how progressive Lady Gaga's recent tree headpiece is. 2) Those are all album tracks. Most people haven't even heard of them. They know Applause and remember BTW. Obviously I'm going to get crap for saying this on a Gaga forum, but everyone here is going to be biased. The fact that the second I post this and I instantly get several replies up in arms only goes to show that everyone is in denial. The fact is that her starpower is gone. The power that shot Judas to number one even though nobody really liked the song isn't helping out DWUW.

She's always trying to bring back old music styles and team with heritage acts. Even R Kelly gets played on adult urban radio with other 90's stars. His fanbase don't buy many itunes. Griffin 6
Do What U Want is #11 on the Canadian Hot 100! So torn about the Grammy performance, considering it's only 6 chart updates away. I reckon a cool acoustic medley of DWUW and Gypsy would be nice. But considering Do What U Want's long climb into the Top 10, 5 weeks or so would be enough to call it a hit. Hmm. I'm just saying that those particular songs could be very appealing to teenage girls--I know the opinions of a couple don't mean much but today i played ARTPOP the album in my school's fine arts studio where there were like 35ish students in different art classes (i snuck the album into the stereo )and the first track i put on was MANiCURE, and everyone in there (no one is a gaga fan) loved it. same with guy/do what u want/ARTPOP/s-xx dreams. it's not like she's lost her youngster appeal, but i see what you mean about her being too unrelatable what with the whole artish stuff, but that's her point this era so
