BILLBOARD YEAR END DIGITAL SONGS ESTIMATIONS

The "Billboard" year began with the chart dated 1st December 2012 and finished with the chart dated 30th November 2013. Billboard only count sales whilst the song is in the weekly top 75.

"Applause" is the second most selling song with 12 weeks on the chart, only beaten by "Wrecking Ball". In the range of 10 to 15 weeks it's the third most selling song, with Roar at #1. Those songs are bold on the list. Therefore, "Applause" sold for example more than Hip Hop smashes "Hold On We're Going Home" or "Berzerk".

ariana grande's song sold more than her

done

Yes, with the double amount of weeks ;)

The only ones you can really compare it to (in a "negative" way) are Roar and Wrecking Ball, and there is nothing more to say.

Roar was simply a worldwide smash and needs no further explanation (it was even #2 in Germany, her first Top 3 hit after THREE years - last one was Firework in 2010).

And Miley on her Wrecking Ball was EVERYWHERE in the US.

So... it's simply GOOD, after all! And GOOD is all we can ask for, since it secures the amount of money that Gaga can put in ART :)

Technically, Roar only has a 13th week because it's pre-release radio deal made it chart pre-release.

True, but Applause being 3rd best selling in the 10-15wks range doesn't make it less good :)

Of course, that list doesn't include last week which brought it over 1.8 million. Lot of sales to come even after leaving Hot 100 Top 10, cause it will have radio play for months still.

I'm confused by this list.

Then why is she number 39 in that list?

She is the second best with twelve weeks on the chart :)

And 39th altogether! If BB would make YEC on Dec 31, it would be even better for her of course :)
