What was the first direction of the song? Go with that. Yesss. I love the true message of the song and I know she could do some amazingly artistic performances to convey it, rather than just pull the s-x card... I would rather a 'boring' performance than something shocking or potentially distasteful that gets her completely the wrong kind of publicity. This. Hopefully it won't be that crazy... I think it is disrespectful and it will take a serious positive message for this performance to be redeemed. This is what aggravates me, though. I'm not necessarily targeting this at you, but there's a double standard going on in this thread. People said NOTHING about Gaga bringing JFK into Government Hooker (both the song and the performance at the BTWB). There was absolutely no controversy at all. Now it's the 50th anniversary, suddenly it's disrespectful and offensive. Obviously Gaga is doing this performance to stir up controversy, but that doesn't hide the fact that there is a double standard in this thread (and in the world) that shows people only get offended when it suits them.
