CannaeDrive 3,412
Not this discussion again.. Gypsy is a guaranteed hit that will bring many new album buyers and it will be the best for promoting the album at BRITs, Grammys, etc and perhaps even do performances of the song while she's on tour - she can just do an acoustic performance in every country she goes to. I think that GUY should be the fourth single, and ARTPOP for the fifth single. If there can only 4 singles ARTPOP will be the fourth single instead of GUY. Venus could be a possible last single just for the sake of releasing a music video for it and a few performances. Thats the kind of sequence I was thinking all along, ARTPOP must be a single after the obvious ones (DWUW, Gypsy), it shows a different Gaga and her vocals are so good in that song. riz 0
How does a song chart well that is released after the album is already out if such a large chunk of her fans already have the album and have no need to buy the single separately?
Desperado 2,439
ARTPOP needs a discount

Her fans have the album, but not most of the public. So with promo, non-fans will hear about the song through TV performances/interviews/radio airplay/music videos and go buy the song. Luc 4,775
I've no experience in charts tbh, but with a single after the album release, does the release at lesat get in the Top 10 or Top 20 upon release or flop like Unconditionally?
GypsyLife 0
12 Katy Perry - Roar 0.3348 13 Lady Gaga - Do What U Want (feat. R. Kelly) 0.3113 could roar just ahhhhhh move

kupo 201
And before the video. This should be a very nice second single for Gaga. Preparing the way for the slayage of Gypsy.

Post-album singles in general take time to climb. Rarely do they debut with high numbers for an immediate top 10 or even top 20 entry.
Americano 31,061
Gaga lands at #7 on the Billboard 200 this week. Not as bad as the #9 they were projecting. Selling between 50-55K as they projected tho which is pretty bad lol

Americano 31,061
global queen 81% drop tho Sucks. But a drop from #1 - #7 is more digestable than a drop from #1 - #9, almost out of the Top 10 Gaga is also increasing hard in Germany, #13 and dark green. But whenever I'd think that she dropped out of the top 5 on its second week, I remind myself that it's still her 2nd #1 album after all. I really hope we'll get a sales upsurge by the time she performs on the GRAMMYs next year.
