Maybe we haven't been doing enough requesting. We requested the **** out of Applause lol.

People have been too busy whining and moaning to request. :P

A re-release of Applause and end this era of struggling tbh.

I love G.U.Y. so much and it's just sad that thanks to her great decisions in the past, she can't take the risk of releasing such an amazing but strange song right now.

Just saw Unconditionally video for the first time and wow, what an amazing visual masterpiece. I'm blown away and kinda jealous of the quality of this video...

Maybe one day with Gaga we will have Bad Romance / Judas quality video.

Not many hope for DWUW since it was so rushed.

ok and then what? gaga ships off overseas and dwuw falls out of the top 20 again? lol this era lacks consistency.

until the video comes out, this single is not staying up.

Now you don't want her to go overseas to do promo? Make up your mind.

Just A Holy Fool

Gypsy I think is the clear 3rd single, after that as Americano said, its tough. G.U.Y. is my choice, but it in no way is a guaranteed hit... I think a radio edit would be wise and take the spoken word intro out and the Nein Zedd part out at the end. No one will be here for that :awkney:

I used to love Sexx dreams and i really thought that it would get the justify my love impact, but G.U.Y is gold. i remember all her casual fans and even some haters loving that snippet.

Plus i can clearly hear Bad Romance when she starts to sing: "I don´t need to be on top....." don´t know why

"Due to overwhelming demand during pre-sales for Gaga's Roseland Ballroom residency, two additional shows have been added!"

This is wonderful news and so sad at the same time.

I cannot believe they are closing this iconic venue. I guess time changes all things.

Now, don't get me wrong. Roseland is no Hammerstein Ballroom but it is the venue where Kurt Cobain famously died and was resurrected moments before he had to perform.

Though it relocated in the 50's (1958 to be exact) that ballroom has been around NY in one incarnation or another since 1919. To see the closure of a place where acts like Rollingstones, Bob Dylan, and Ella Fitzgerald, all the way back in the 40's, left their marks.... it's sad.

It's history goes beyond music and delves into America's civil rights history, changes in socialite society, and was once the nation's premier venue for ballroom dancing.

There is so much history in that building, and while many younger fans may not know that history... Gaga does.

I can only imagine how emotional the final show will be for her. It may very well be one of the greatest concerts she has ever given.

While the venue should be honored that Lady Gaga has agreed to close it out, Lady Gaga should also feel very honored to be given that historic duty.

It is reasons like this that Lady Gaga will not be a flash in the pan. People who matter within the music industry truly believe in her and her talents.

Sorry this is so off topic.

I'm a Lady Gaga fan, obviously, but first and foremost... I am a music fan and have been for 30 years. Roseland's closing strikes a chord in me. (Brick's and Strings)... now I feel a need to go listen to that song. God, I wish the general public was intelligent enough to understand what she is trying to say with that one song.

Because of songs like ARTPOP, and just like Madonna and Cher before her, Lady Gaga will be vindicated by history.

The trends lately are so weird... Hey Brother, Timber and Wake Me Up all have that EDM-Country-Pop vibe.

It's very strange. Next up is Let Her Go. The pop songs, especially from pop girls, are slowly getting squeezed out.

Maybe Gaga should adopt a country accent (you know she could do it) and round up some folks with some banjos for Artfolkpop 2. :teehee:

these ID songs....very annoying...

They are actually some of the best work 1D has done.

I gave the album a listen and I applaud them on two fronts.

1.) Taking a major risk with their sound. I'm not sure their fanbase will be ready for an album that sounds like 1D had a three way with Green Day and Parachute. But, the members of 1D insisting on such a big change is pretty ballsy given all they have to lose. Word is that they tried to push for this change on their last album and the label said no.

and

2.) I have to give them respect for FINALLY becoming directly involved in writing their songs as well as playing some of the instruments on the new album. If it is true that other members of the band are learning respective instruments as well, we could see something VERY different on 1Dv2.0 in 2015.

So, I don't begrudge their success on the charts. Don't get me wrong, I love Lady Gaga, but I don't want other artists to suffer either. Especially if they are taking a risk with their art.

I love all music, and I think that all fanbases need to get along. I don't get why Madonna/Katy/Christina fans don't LOVE Gaga fans. Perhaps they would if they could just look past the financial rivalry and realize that it isn't about money.

It really, really isn't about money.

It is about records.

And not 'setting records' ... it is about records as in an artist's record; as in the record an event. The event of people joining in a room to play music together.

yea you would clog the charts and block other actual singles so that people like katy perry cant get proper increases from their own promotion. sounds fair lol

The position on the chart does not matter nearly as much as you might think it does. What matters? Sales.

If 1D or Bieber have a song that sales 100,000 copies in one week, hits number 1, and then plummets vs Lady Gaga or Katy Perry having a song that goes double platinum but never reaches number 1 (like Bad romance never reached number 1) then the label doesn't care as much.

It is not like they all make an additional 50 cents off each sale just because it is sitting at the number 1 spot on itunes.

So, no. I don't see what they are doing as hurting the industry. I do worry that this trend will further cannibalize album sales for the artists who utilize it.

It's promo singles .. everyone can release their singles the way they want, I actually like that 1D's team are releasing the singles In an unique way ..  everyone started releasing promo singles like Gaga with BTW, Taylor with Red etc.. (1 per monday)  and now Bieber started releasing song every monday, I like that 1D did a slightly different thing .. they are getting the buzz In a short amount of time - from the release of the promo song with the video for their Movie, then being quiet again, then releasing Story of my life and now the promo singles the last few days before the album release, It's a great strategy ..

This is also being done as a counter to the album leaking a week in advance, just like ARTPOP.

What we really need to focus on is how to stop album leaks.

It's awful, In my defense I don't actually like much pop music at all but still, "A great lyricist"........ :lmao:

Actually, yeah, she kinda is.

Her live singing voice can be heavily debated... but her work as a lyricist is agreed on by most critics, and I'm not even a big an of hers. I didn't even buy a copy of Red.

Tbh after the 100th breakup song I think she's just not realizing that the problem is obviously her  :fan:

Taylor Swift's newest album: "Maybe It's Just Me?" available soon.

i LOVELOVELOVE Venus, so Im not bashing it, but the lyrics... Like what? Idk

Do what u want is a lyrical masterpiece on Gaga standards IMO though. same with G.U.Y.

it just depends on the song.

Other than the bridge, I actually like the Lyrics to that one. There is a lot of meaning hidden in there with choices like the "Rocket # 9" reference.

It is very good as a Dadaistic style of poetry: Taking random words and sentences and putting them out there to convey a certain emotion that ties the song together.

Red Hot Chili Peppers do this A LOT. Almost their album "By The Way" was done in this style.

The bridge though, eh, I feel like it's just a name check planets without too much thought behind it.

Still, a great song.
