Whispering 18,865 Posted November 22, 2013 Share Posted November 22, 2013 Maybe some of us get sick of adolescent meltdowns all the time. It's not Gaga's charting, it's the negativity on this board. It's not enough to have negativity when we get bad news. We now have to have pre-meltdown over next week's projected sales, and then relive it again when sales are final. There's a meltdown every time the single gets a red update. I sometimes wonder how some people cope in real life with real life problems. You know, illnesses, deaths, break-ups... So while I think this approach would work creatively it doesn't seem to be the best business strategy.-----------------------------Even the Body Talk trilogy experienced declining sales just like JT's 20/20.She got to Part III just before Xmas, and it's single flopped in UK, and not a lot of sales for it or the one-album version. miss anthropy 0 Posted November 22, 2013 Share Posted November 22, 2013 In my opinion, this whole situation really makes me hope Lady Gaga takes a similar approach to her next release much like Robyn's Body Talk... A whole album of music split into a handful of EPs spread throughout the year. This keeps things fresh, exciting, and CHEAPER. It would always feel like a new experience with the release of each new EP, as well as eliminates the "stretching out" of album campaigns, so hopefully the GP would maintain an interest with each release. And let's be honest, ARTPOP was released just over a week ago, and we're already getting excited for the next act of ARTPOP. Sorry this is so long... I think this is a great idea. Dwuw is right next to Unconditionally, and the later has a video. All the differences are also really small. We really dont need meltdowns. AMAs will boost it a bit and then it will start falling again pretty soon. Oh and the video won't help that much coz there are no more banners on youtube so ppl won't know gaga has a video out. And the video will probably get age-restricted if it features "shocking scenes" with R.kelly licking her. So potential smash hit but lack of promo & mess gaga firing her whole promotional team. Now she had the best promotionalt team when they couldnt for weeks to unrestrict the audio for DWUW? If Unconditionally falled getting views, it doesnt mean DWUW would do the same. So you know the entire radio run of DWYW from now? And how do you know that the video won't be any promo? The days before the Vevo banners people still used youtube and wathced the videos. But with all the One Direction songs, it may have problems. :)) It would have been really good, if the songs they are releasing on Itunes, would have been up for streaming too. We will see.
