I also don't worry about the US because there will be a lot of promo there and Gaga is already rebounding. I am a bit worried though about Australia and Germany... I'm mainly worried about Australia, France and Germany. But honestly, this supergazgaz or something like that had a very smart mindset about Gaga promotion yesterday in a thread and I really think that that is the way Gaga should focus on selling her music because 85% of her sales come from these countries, it's divided into 5 groups to show their importance in Gaga's sales. Group A: the US Group B: Japan and the UK Group C: Canada Group D: Germany, France and Australia Group E: Taiwan, Switzerland, Mexico and Brazil These are the 11 most important markets for Gaga's success, and the 11 markets where promo will be the most useful. This doesn't, however, include touring. So, we should be able to say: Group A: 7 big promotional appearances throughout the era, a commercial, radio deals and radio interviews Group B: 5 big promotional appearances, radio deals and radio interviews Group C: 3-4 big promotional apperances, radio interviews and radio interviews Group D: 3 big promotional appearances, radio interviews, mini-tour Group E: 5 days spent in each country to boost hype with mini-tour, interviews and one big promotional appearance. This would be the best promotion for a whole era, that's a total of 33 promo appearances/performances. Which is easy to reach, since you can do the same performance in multiple countries and can also perform the third single acoustic (Gypsy). But let's take the most successful album of the past decade, Born This Way 21, if we had to do this for Adele, it would be. A: The US - 40% of the sales B: The UK - 20% of the sales C: Germany (7%), France (7%) D: Australia (3,5%), Canada (3%) E: The Netherlands (1,7%), Italy (1,5%), Spain (1%), Mexico (1%), Brazil (1%) So the biggest 4 markets make up for 75% of 21's total sales: ~20 million, and likewise these are the only countries where you actually need promotion for the album to do well, 85% of 21's sales are from Top 10 music markets, the only market where it wasn't promoted enough is Japan. Countries where Adele does over 10x better in sales than Gaga include The Netherlands, Spain, New Zealand, Denmark and various other European countries.
