And you guys are suicidal because her #1 debut has less than amazing numbers? Shame on you. So after the doc called, I get on GGD because Gaga stuff makes me happy. I saw this thread, didn't think much of the numbers, then read through pages of complete bull**** meltdowns. Thanks for helping my mood...... It's about the woman and the music. We are lucky to have both, though many perhaps don't deserve either. Smh. I want her to succeed. But guys... What is life about? Thank you! Honestly I just got sick of seeing people sound so shallow about something that's so trivial. One dude seriously said he's done because he can't do pop stars that's not number 1. I truly hope he gets banned (blocked IP address tbh). That's awfully disrespectful and not just voicing his opinion. I still cannot understand how she is made to compete with every other popstar when she is one of, if not the only ACTUAL musician within the pop industry. It baffles my mind that she is still slammed when she is the only popstar in charge of her whole artistry. I haven't read that in any review of ARTPOP, people don't give her props for actually composing her music. I think too much people treat her like a popstar, defined by sales, popularity and charts, when really she is an artist who chose pop music and pop culture as her medium. I used to stan for a semi mainstream band and there were never any discussion about the charts among fans. We didn't care about comments on blogs or reviews, we just enjoyed what the artist gave us and made our own judgment on things. It sure is nice when someone you love/admire is on top of the world but I actually love where she is right now: relevant and respected enough to participate in big projects and doing lots of interviews and all, but not ridiculously exposed. It makes her stand out I think and it leaves only the fans who like her for the right reasons and not because it's popular/cool to like her. I really enjoy this era and everything she does makes me so goddamn happy, I'm loving what she gives us and that's all that matters. BOLDED FOR TRUTH! ! ! !
