GagaisHotAF 419
That's the thing though, fans admire her BECAUSE she's innovative, mainstream success is just a sideline. People praise her because while she struggled with some of the mainstream success of the 'Born This Way' era, the music still had so much substance. ARTPOP lacks that edge that fans were looking and hoping for. It was over hyped with claims of being revolutionary to Gaga's career and the fact that so much time and effort was put into the music. Yet a good portion of the album does not deliver to what fans know she is capable of. Not only isn't it doing so well on the charts, it's not satisfying to a large portion of her fan base either. And that's why people are being so critical. With a dramatic title such as ARTPOP people were expecting something with much more creativity to it. This isn't me being cynical, I'm just trying to come up with an explanation. Personally I'm happy with a lot of the songs on the album, but I understand why some aren't. The album is a smooth ride all the way through, there isn't any iconic material like what was present in her past three releases. Also HDD I believe only predicts digital sales? Probably on Grindr

MelbHawker 6,583
It's true. Billboard Magazine reported in fact she was only selling an average of 9000 tickets for the remaining 22 US shows with each venue having a seat capacity of roughly 20000 people. So the shows were far from sold out. She didn't even manage to sell 50% of the tickets available. People already lost interested in her then. http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/1539268/lady-gaga-tour-cancellation-a-look-at-the-damage
TimisaMonster 31,073
270K...ISH?!!!!! The fact that they keep saying the 1.1 million doesn't count cuz of the Amazon discount...no matter what you say..it DID sell that much no matter how much the album cost...it was still worth something and people paid to have it...why WOULDN'T it count? BTW, how in the world does he even "predict" how much it's gonna sell? For all they know, I could be a rich person who wants to buy 1 million copies tomorrow... Doot 2
Pop music sales are ALL down. So technically, if you think about it... Katy SMASHED with Roar, and came off of an album that was essentially her FM, and still sold under 300K. Miley has two hit singles, and a **** TON of controversy, and still only sold under 300K. Gaga was gone for six months, barely did any promo and sold under 300K. Let that sink in.
No Lies 0
Gaga was gone for six months, barely did any promo and sold under 300K. Since you posted the same thing as in the other thread, I'll post my same reply: Gaga's sales are not out. The first sales week isn't even over yet. These numbers are just projections
