The only thing its lacking is reach. Get dat promo tbh, even if it's just a tiny bit since no one really uses iTunes Radio. They ought to advertise that it's up for streaming through YouTube on a banner or somethin under her videos. You really have no idea what would be an "album seller" and what wouldn't. Thinking you can is just arrogance and egotistical, as if you have some special talent of calling out hits or misses that nobody else does. Some people will prefer Venus, some will Dope. You can't push everyone into one category or the other, life and people don't work that way soz But you can make informed guesses as to what will hit and what will miss with the public at large. Can you say definitively? No, of course not. Nothing can be said definitively until it's tried and the results actually play out. But that's not how album cycles work. Record labels have to make decisions that require this sort of "foresight" all the time: which songs should be singles? Which songs should be used in promotion? They aren't making those kind of decisions randomly. They're looking at cultural trends and making informed predictions. There's circumstantial evidence that indicates ballads can help push albums. And there's plenty of evidence (the whole BTW campaign) to indicate that a song with an aggressively queer aesthetic like Venus could potentially alienate a lot of the public.
