kupo 201 Posted November 14, 2013 Share Posted November 14, 2013 I really don't think it's the album title. It's the whole campaign and how Gaga has tried to sell it. It's the fact that as an album, and not just a set of songs, it doesn't hang together as well as her others. And yes, more scores could trickle in, but that will seriously slow down now. And the more scores there are, the harder it becomes to raise or lower the score. So, for this to appreciate significantly, it would have to be some serious raves that come in. Critics are critics and that shouldn't change our perception of the music. However the metacritic score is unfair, in my opinion. I would easily rate TFM and ARTPOP first, then BTW, then the Fame. No bias in my choosing at all. The production is way better on ARTPOP than on all the other albums. See, I strongly disagree. I think ARTPOP is far and away her worst effort to date. The production is cleaner in some places than her past efforts, but it's also more stale and sanitized and dull. And the songwriting is much weaker here, and the whole album is conceptually weaker. There's a lot more to a song than its production. Granted, 61 is a little below where I'd score it.
