I played this song for my mother who lost her husband to alcoholism. She couldn't last a minute in and had to take off the headphones.

The song is more powerful than you think; if you don't know addiction, you're not going to get it.

OT but I agree. There's a slight problem of addiction in my family, so Dope really hit home.

ARTPOP" track "Dope" failed to be the emotional stunner it desperately deserved to be.

... unfortunately, the screaming audience at the awards show torched that intended feeling of intimacy.

Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler, The Creator's mosh-pit performance was awe-inspiring... unless you have motion sickness, or hate when every other word is bleeped out.

It's the show that's getting shaded, lol.

Paper Planes

In terms of the audience, I agree. But just speaking about her performance on the stage alone, I disagree. She literally poured her heart out and broke down while singing. You can tell that she spent the entire performance crying or trying to not cry.

delete it fat

How many famous names have lost their lives in Hollywood and other places.  I am not an addict but I was torn with her her voice on how she performed this song.  Note: I don't like slow songs but this hits you in the gut. I loved the song especialley the begining.  Very Powerful performance which in turn Very Powerful meaning.  Gaga nailed it in my opinion.  The right place at the right time.

Haroon

I'm not surprised really  I was kind of excited when I saw the pictures of how she looked when she arrived, but as soon as I saw the beginning of her performance I just didn't feel it anymore. As many people have said DWYW is supposedly the single (I'm not sure if I even believe her anymore about that because of what's been going on lately :laughga: ) so I don't see why she needed to sing Dope. Yes it's a good song and her vocals are good etc but the whole thing just didn't work together on that one night unfortunately :noparty:
