Don't even mention the 27 Club y'all.

Literally all my favorites are apart of the 27 Club.

It's like I'm literally drawn to them without even noticing Amy, Kurt, Jim, Jimi and Janis.

:excited2:  :eww:

Her history with it, and her cryptic messages. Once an addict, always an addict. We just have to pray she pulls through.

That is NOT enough to suggest that she is using d--gs again. Lots of people successfully overcome addiction, and while relapse rates are high, Gaga surely has handlers who would throw her in rehab at the slightest hint she's using again. It's pretty horrible speculation you're throwing around, and exactly the kind of negativity that drives tabloid journalism, and puts so much pressure on people like Gaga, who are constantly in the public eye.

I never said I thought it was stupid though. :toofunny:

Most of the Lina/pregnant rumor threads and whatnot I believe. I've seen it around here lately.

I know :) my comment was meant for everyone.

If you want to say goodbye to big budget videos and tours, I'd say go right a head :awkney:

omg preach girl, why **** something up when we have it so good?

If we start shading interscope there goes our budget, costumes, makeup, hair etc etc.

I'm sorry if this offends people but her comment that 'actors and singers need critics to grow' is something you've made up' is not true at all. :wtf:

How are you supposed to get better if you don't know what you're doing wrong? I'm doing a Game Design course at a University and one thing they've told us from the beginning is that if/when we publish a game, people will criticise it. And if we take that criticism personally, it'll be an incredible emotional toll on us, so we should instead use that criticism going forward to address issues in future projects.

While this isn't exactly the same as being a pop artist, it's still an art - creating a video game, in my opinion at least, is still creating art. So why wasn't I told at University that I should ignore all criticism and keep doing my thing?

There's a difference between constructive and destructive criticism - constructive would include 'this era has had messy management and releases,' while destructive criticism would be 'Gaga, you're flopping'. Gaga doesn't seem to be able to differentiate between the two - constructive criticism is incredibly useful for growth, but obviously destructive criticism is not.

I think this ties back into that throw-away statement she said in an interview around the album launch that really annoyed me - she said something like 'the bloggers need to stop reviewing me and leave it to the professionals.' That was also something I think she was incredibly wrong about for a number of reasons. First, how do professionals become professionals? By working independently and then getting noticed/showing their portfolio to a company. Secondly, what was the main medium for her career launch? The internet. These 'bloggers' whose opinion she said was completely invalid are the people who spread around her news and her music back in the old days. To suddenly say that they're not worth listening to...  :pukey:

Anyway, rant over I guess. I just really really disagree with this stance she's taken on criticism. It's not healthy. She's telling us to ignore it and be positive yet all she seems to be doing is focusing on the negativity and tweeting/commenting about it.

but art is subjective so how can anyone really tell her what she's doing wrong, it's different for everyone

Art and 'good music' is subjective.

But constructive critisizm is never bad IMO. So I agree with you + her to a certain point.

Art is subjective, but so are opinions.

Brooklyn Nights

It's her art... How can her art be wrong if it's to her liking? She's not talking as a pop star anymore. She's talking as an artist
