She had always been a fan of R Kelly, he lives in Chicago (she was there visiting Taylor and DJWS sent her the instrumental to DWUW), and he has iconic vocals for an R&B song.

Correct. Also, the media is going to be all over this.

If/when the video is out and if it's the same video they intended to release to begin with, watch them hotlink their reviews to recent exposes of R Kelly online.

I appreciate the support but your comment only makes me feel worse.  It this opinion is correct, I'll be in the depth of depression.

To the GGD members in general:  I need people to say "Ronk, you're all wet, your opinion is incorrect, and you’re clueless about how the music industry works."

It's kinder to tell people when their wrong and explain why, than to ostracize them for not knowing.  The truth is I don't know how the music industry works and my views on those kinds of issues are often probably incorrect.  I have to believe I'm on the wrong side of this issue because it would be too devastating if I'm not.  If Gaga goes down, my heart goes down with her.  I'm being very truthful and open about my feelings and I'm just pouring my heart out.

I live outside the space time continuum.

Maybe it's not even about the rumours  Maybe it's because the video they shot was actually too inappropriate  We'll find out sooner or later I guess

She said she worked with R Kelly because she wanted the King of R&B or something

to be totally honest., i think youre right. but not totally. i think that the video was too raunchy, not for  Gaga's label, but for R KELLY's label. i think his PR team mustve seen it and with all the rumours and media coverage he's getting (while its total BS), they might be the ones with the problem. and im scared taht it may be a partynauseous situation again where Gaga won't want to shoot another video just because someone elses label says so and we wont end up getting one :/// who knows, im still optimistic!

Terry Richardson BTWB film is the most important in my opinion. That castle had to look wonderful on film so I hope it's still coming.

Look, darling, this is all relative. In the long run, if/when she has a hit song, all will be forgiven and she'll be the darling of the media again.

That's just the way this industry works.

I wouldn't take this so hard and just enjoy the early 2014, while building your skills and making new friends/finding new music.

Thank you.  You make me feel a lot better.

My views are not from the perspective of a music stan, although I love Gaga's music.  My views are from a stan of Gaga as a kind, caring person who spreads kindness and tries to change the world for the better.  She is dedicated to making a real difference.  It's the side of Gaga the public doesn't see.  They see her as an artist, I see her as a person.  So my look at things comes from a very different angle than most people, and I appreciate being corrected when I'm wrong.

I appreciate your honesty and you sharing your feelings here.

R. Kelly has collaborated with Jay Z, Usher, Keri Hilson, Ciara, Ashanti, Bruno, Bieber and a long list of rappers since the allegations in 2002. Collaborating with other musical artists doesn't mean you approve of everything in their personal life, nor should it associate you with their personal problems. Adele is on record as wanting to collab with Chris Brown. That would not be a choice I would make, but if she chooses to do a song with him, that doesn't mean she approves of his life choices and everything he has ever done in his personal life.

Many people, especially fellow artists, separate the art from the artist. Do you know how many great authors, playwrights, and visual artists from the past were downright criminals and perverts? We read their works and hail them as the great classics. We perform their plays on the biggest stages of the world and hang their paintings in the best museums in the world.

R. Kelly is an excellent R&B artist. His contribution added a great deal to DWUW and helped it work in a legitimate way. There could be some negatives, that go along with the positives, especially here in the US, but that's just the way it is. The good news is that radio PDs and DJs didn't mind playing a song with him on it and many countries outside of the US LOVE the song!

Pain of fame1

To reach a wider audience.. the R&B scene in this case

THIS.

And to fit more the song, as DWUW is an R&B song and R Kelly is its King

I think that ARTPOP is actually a concept album, because ARTPOP could mean anything imo!

But The Fame Monster is a REAL concept album from Gaga! :)

Did you see Kelly's last video or album cover? Isn't it too raunchy too? And no, the new about him are not bull**** because his allegations are REAL and they are on COURT.
