People believe what they wanna believe, the more sensible people will look at the source, the others just gobble it up and just add another thing to fuel their hate with. I think the amount spent on fuel to get to places for promo probably outweighs the cost of the promo itself. Has she decorated subways or put her album in Starbucks? Has she had a relentless tv advertising campaign? Have ARTPOP posters gone up all over everywhere? Then what are they supposed to have spent the money on? All it takes is a little bit of a think. You soon come to the conclusion that it's bull. They didn't want front loaded sales with this album. The 2nd single has been out 2 months without a video yet so it could see single 2 drag out until February... it's quite clear that longevity is the name of the game. Currently only outsold worldwide by Katy Perry (which will soon drop off) and Beyonce (who front loaded so much will be lucky to stay charting in Feb.) Maybe 25m is their overall budget for this album cycle though. In terms of stage budget, venue rental etc etc. But certainly not the album marketing prerelease. I'd put that at about 5M tops. Adakam 2 Posted January 2, 2014 Share Posted January 2, 2014 hmm, it only makes Gaga look bad, not them, they are made to look like a trusting company that believes insanely in their artists, so it doesnt really affect them, AND/OR because talking about it would have the "who farted?" effect, (you bring it up to deny it because its true), the best thing is to let the rumour die and let people believe what they want PLUS its kinda illogical, the promo is obviously smaller than Born This Way (and yet theres no mention of BTW's promo budget to compare), and the whole thing just looks like, if you are neutral "oh, interscope trusted Gaga too much, didnt work out, they are the dumb ones", if you are a hater "stupid interscope and Gaga LOL",and if you are a fan "bull****" so its ok, this isnt that big of a deal, and the BTW amazon discount was far more criticized Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
