drbumblenut 48 Posted October 29, 2013 Share Posted October 29, 2013 It's true that everyone hears music differently, because I listened to and love Born This Way (album) an unhealthy amount, and I don't register any similarities to it and "Mary Jane Holland," except for their sheer scale.  "Venus" has more of a connection to Born This Way... god, what an amazing song... anyway.  "Mary Jane Holland" has way more swagger than anything on Born This Way. If I can generalize horribly to make a point: Born This Way was on the defensive, and ARTPOP is waaaay on the offensive. It knows for SURE that it's going to kick your ass.
