It says it could be very expensive, but it doesn't explain why

Doubt this will happen.

Jeff Koons art sells for millions of dollars and he isn't even dead. Even if the album is terrible and no one cares about Lady Gaga they will about Jeff Koons.

This. It's not a random photoshoot is an artwork from an important artist whether they like it or not.

Dont forget that non hardcore fans can get these copies so there will be ones going around that people don't really care for.

I would love tp have one but I can't Afford to make sure I have one. Baby comes first now. I haven't got anything for my Gaga or Britney collection in over à year.

It sucks but then again my baby is irreplaceable.

Who knew foil would be so expensive :derpga:

Get thé aluminium from the kitchen and foil all you own.

I feel like the only thing that will be worth millions is the actual sculpture itself, not the mass produced jewelcase.

I understand. Most of his collages were not mass produced, though, which creates value through scarcity.

They could mean expensive for a CD. I mean it could be between 50 to 100€ which is expensive for a jewelcase.

Unless Jeff Koons physically made each and every single limited edition album cover - they will be worthless. They are just foil covered. That's it. Unless Gaga stuck the foil on herself using her own saliva...

Just because it's a JEFF KOONS COLLAGE - it's a PHOTO on a mass produced album cover. It's not going to be unique. Jeez, I could print loads of the ARTPOP cover on special paper and sell it for MILLIONS.. LIKE PRINTING MY OWN MONEY?!

Seriously, get ****ing real.

You do not know how the art world works. This is a print by Jeff Koons. Many artists work solely in prints and make limited editions like this all the time. There is significant money in prints.  This is a larger edition than many, but it is also by a very big name artist. Now it will not be anywhere close to a million; however, I am certain this will only appreciate in value over time. Gaga is an artist that will go down in history even if she stops making music after ARTPOP (Judas forbid). So even considering THAT it will go up, but to account for Jeff Koons involvement will add considerably. I would guess in 50 years it could be around $1,000. Considering we pay around $15 now that's a major increase in a relatively short period of time.
