The observant among you might have noted the deathly silence at the mention of R.Kelly's involvement. No further comment at this time.

I think it was an amazing performance, and the mise en scene was great. I was expecting her to perform how she did at G-A-Y, or at least to be dressed in that kinda attire. But it was really cute! Not her best and I think that's partly because it wasn't a big production, the music wasn't loud enough and she didn't have many backing vocals or adlibs to back her up (which was probably her decision to show she doesn't have to rely on them). But it's definitely not deserving of all the criticism it's getting on Twitter. It puzzles me as to why people (especailly in the UK) are still calling her 'weird' or a 'freak' like they're the first ones to establish that she's not "normal" or at least a "normal" performer. I thought the world was familar with the concept of "Lady Gaga". Anywayz, BRAVO! Great performance.

I liked the performance! Venus is such a great song

I thought it was awesome to show her real hair, because people are not used to it...

and her performance on the piano was cool, her moves were raw and powerful like in the Applause video in the Stefani scenes :legend:

The one thing I will say for the performance was obliviously there were a lot of fans in the audience.

During the lead up when they showed the mash up of previous songs / her achievements there was clapping and cheers all the way :)

i do think there would of been more of a set ect if the whole single thing didn't happen and venus was the second single as planned

This, definitely.

If the single mess hadn't happened and it was just Venus (or just DWUW for that matter) I think the performance could have been one of her best, with a tight concept and not rushed.

I'm never a fan of medleys tbh, neither song used usually gets its chance to shine.

Um, wow... I'm disappointed. The whole performance was kind of a mess. She seemed like she was trying way too hard. She doesn't seem as confident as she used to in her performances...

The vocals were great! I'm happy as long as she does justice to the material. The complexity and shock value weren't there, but hey, she said this era was going to be about minimalism, and she did just that. She wants to prove that she can be entertaining without all the whacky stuff, which is an admirable goal. And although she is of course still entertaining, I do feel that I go to Gaga in particular for the outlandish-ness and spectacle of it all, so I'm a bit sad to not see it. But it was a solid performance nonetheless!

I liked it, she looked amazing, she was so cute and tiny + smiling all the time.  She did look a bit funny though :p, but that was also a good thing. Nice that she showed her real hair again

Her vocals had moments where they were good and also moments where it sounded like she was really pushing to hard on her voice.

The performance was extremely lacklustre to be honest.

I was so looking forward to it and it seemed a bit of a let down. Her outfit looked tacky and cheaply made (could've just worn the iTunes Festival shells, they looked better). I like Venus and don't mind DWUW but the medley just didn't seem to work. Didn't feel like we got enough from each song, I don't know, it all just seemed to be over too quickly. I think Venus should've been all upbeat, high energy and then DWUW more stripped back, down-tempo. Choreography didn't seem brilliant either. Not one of Gaga's best (in fact I preferred the G-A-Y performance more). I think this was probably caused by the last minute changing of DWUW as the new signle and Venus now being promo.
Onwards and upwards though! :)

the bolded indeed
