It boosted Work Bitch, helped the album pre-orders do MILES better than Femme Fatale in all major markets [uK, US, Australia, Germany, France] and the song didn't leak beforehand either. Not to mention doing an album stream, which is something all major artists are doing [Miley, Justin, Gaga, Avril -- wouldn't consider her a major artist but alas --, Katy etc].
