Gov Hooka 8,008
so everything is going to be either a fan favorite or single. Greatest album ever.
nick4bty 2,758
I just don't understand how Venus is that appealing to some people? It's so messy & campy. It's not bad at all, but it's not great, either..at most it's a 6/10. MJH's bridge alone DESTROYS Venus I've been the biggest proponent of it not being a single, and I still 100% think this, but the song is infectious as hell. I can't stop playing it or singing it in my head. There's just something so lovable about it lol
Gagaloo911 12,959
Ew no thanks to Gypsy as third single. Maybe after third single, not before I'd rather keep the casual listeners we've gained back since Applause. Gypsy would surely push them away again. We need people that will actually buy the album n not scare them off. These G.U.Y. as.third single since it looks to be commercial. Then maybe Donatella or Gypsy as fourth and Aura to end the era and the Paparazzi trilogy.
nick4bty 2,758
also the youtube quality makes it screechy a little bit. Dope! It's going to be very interesting with the Rick Rubin production. A guy that can go from Kanye West to Lana Del Rey to Adele certainly has me excited. It has a lot of potential I love Rick Rubin, his productions are some of the most underrated in the industry. So glad Gaga got him for a ballad. While Gypsy will probably moreso resemble Hair, Dope sounds like it'll be almost entirely piano-based. I couldn't be more excited
kupo 201
I've been playing DWUW and Venus straight for the last two days, they're both such amazing songs. The MJH snippet is already shaping up to be my skip track, lol. But some people prefer the loud brashy EDM instrumental to the smooth catchy pop hooks, so be it See, I love smooth, catchy pop hooks and hate brash EDM stuff. But for me, MJH uses EDM as a means to make a rock song, which is just really cool. It definitely is loud and busy but, unlike Venus, I feel like there's precision to the business. It's layered and maximal, but not cluttered or messy. But I do think this will get similar complaints on that end: overproduced. And even though I like MJH, I'd also agree it's not single material. Ballad + Gaga vocals + winter = smash waiting to happen.

Ballads and mid-tempos are HUGE right now (not to mention, they tend to be album sellers and reputation solidifiers). And Gypsy has, like, her most easily relatable and not-weird lyrics since The Fame. ETA- ninja'd by a couple people
MarcsARTPOP 1
Hmm when is DWUW officially released on radio agaiN?
Americano 31,061
actually adds date is irrelevant for estaslished artists. look at WB, it got huge adds even before adds date. radio are not picking up DWUW yet because first it is not exploding on itunes yet hence they dont know whether people like this kind of gaga song, and second they are still pushing applause. i think we can start requesting DWUW to let the DJs know that GP are here for the song it will gain faster this way thats not true at all when its a non-lead single. lead singles always get SERVICED on day one, and thats why adds dates become irrelevant. if they arent, they make a huge difference. why do i need to explain this every 2 pages. not to be rude, but if people don't know, don't argue
heavyMetalGAGA 65
I've been the biggest proponent of it not being a single, and I still 100% think this, but the song is infectious as hell. I can't stop playing it or singing it in my head. There's just something so lovable about it lol I know, I'm relieved it's not a single & I hope it stays that way...it's pretty catchy, though (the chorus is, at least haha). I mean I sort of like the bridge & chorus but I'm just not loving the overall song. Are you listening to it with headphones? I don't know why I can't get into it. If the whole song was like the pre-chorus, "I CAN'T HELP THE WAY I'M FEEEEELIN," it would be one of my favorites we've gotten thus far. It just gets too disjointed after that IMO

While Gypsy will probably moreso resemble Hair, Dope sounds like it'll be almost entirely piano-based. I couldn't be more excited Gypsy is more TEOG apparently, so I'm assuming that means it has a slight rock edge, and synthy. I think Dope will have a drum/piano ensemble. But we can't really guess at all
Americano 31,061
kk. I don't like how Gaga's vocals are masked by the production. But I do like the rock influences. Especially the section in the last minute (I'm assuming the bridge). It's very powerful. Maybe it'll turn out to be a grower. I still think with everything we've heard, this album has no weak spots.
