Right now she needs all the sales she can get, so if a promo single is doing well she NEEDS to take advantage of it. some of you are being selfish, it's HER career. it's like you're okay with her sacrificing sales as long as the era goes the way YOU want it to. it doesn't work that way. This is brilliant and genius. DWUW is a wise choice as a single and will rock. That's the spirit!! (and thanks ;-) ) In hindsight, this will all make sense. As far as GP/fanbase argument going on, I see both sides. The fanbase is huge and dedicated, but I dunno, I just don't think that her losing credibility and the interest of the public is an acceptable avenue when.. It doesn't have to play out like that. I don't feel betrayed. She doesn't write for the charts. However, without POP, there is no ARTPOP. Pop = popular. I can't see DWUW getting much radio plays on local radio stations in my country, RnB isn't really considered that interesting. My guess is this song makes no exception. So, waiting for Venus to be unleashed :whip: The way she described and hyped it, I bet it will be great, it better hit radios at some point too. lol man u're from finland, don't even consider radio stations there as up-to-date spinners... no offence, but when I lived in Estonia, I felt that our radio is like from the past year... Crap like this prolly happens all the time with other artists, but no one knows, so no one has a meltdown. We are lucky to be in on her every move, even when plans change. I bet there are many people that don't even pay much attention to lyrics when listening to music. What counts is how it sounds. DWUW released - everybody praises it - DWUW announced as 2nd single - fanbase gets mad, they want new music to be single - (now it's time to look into the near future) - people hear Venus - people praise it - people get the DWUW video - people say Venus should be the single - 4th single announced - fanbase cries and blames interscope on everything... It's a roller coaster around here, but I still love you guys. I guess what is kind of blowing my mind is that... She wrote the album from her heart/for her fans. In the end, we get all the music. That's all that matters.. And all this single stuff? It's not really about us. I guess some people think it should be, and I get it, but she is a huge star, with a team, managers, a label.
