tbqh the entire applause release was a risk, especially with those lyrics

I think Applause was pretty safe, only some parts of lyrics like "some people like to read and koons" confused some, even the Video was safe. GP didn't even get that booing at the VMA's, they just made to much drama about nothing.

i dont see her taking any risk with this era

Not taking any risks? Are we talking about the same person? If she wasn't "taking any risks", Aura wouldn't be on ARTPOP. If she wasn't taking any risks, Do What U Want, Jewels N' Drugs and Sexxx Dreams wouldn't be on the album. If she wasn't taking any risks, the ARTPOP cover would have been a generic headshot against a plain background with "Lady Gaga" written across the top in some basic font.

It's ironic that you complain about risks when she's sent so many people into meltdowns over the smallest things.

"I don't want her working with R. Kelly!!! I've never heard his music but I heard he peed on a girl!!"

"I want her to cut the rappers out of Jewels N' Drugs!! This is ARTPOP not BLACKPOP!!!"

"She should cut the intro out of Aura! It's horrible!"

"Do What U Want took Venus' place as the second single! Gaga's creative and artistic vision is gone! She doesn't care about her art anymore!!"

The fact that Venus was replaced is a risk in itself. You don't reschedule and replan an entire single without taking risks.

try and understand, if DWUW ends up out performing a single that looks really bad. It's better they continue with DWUW now that its proving a success and release Venus a little later in the year...

Agreed. I wish everyone would understand this.

Sorry, but Interscope was exactly correct making this the second single and people saying her label will destroy her like during BTW is delusional. Jimmy Iovine already put the song in a Best Buy commercial for exposure. This song will appeal across into urban radio (which Venus wouldn't) and adult contemporary radio too which is crucial. It has a massive chance to be her next Billboard Hot 100 number one song since Born This Way and will definitely help ARTPOP first week sales because the General Public is what contributes to most of the sales. Plus, to think way ahead, if this song doesn't get a major release it might not even be eligible for the Grammys in 2015 because do you want to see her get even more recognised and gain R&B nominations? And to think Gaga is selling herself out being in the commercial mould is again delusional. I'm sure she's not going to release a video to this of her in club shaking it on a poll with R.Kelly being next to her. And don't worry Interscope will not interfere with the visuals (they have never been to be honest). Plus, Gaga's a genius so in a few days she can create a performance on the X-Factor that's more than her in a tiger outfit. Just imagine her singing the first verse of DWUW live? Just celebrate because DWUW is going to make us relive the 2009 and 2010 success all over again.

Thank you.

I love you. I want to say this everyday but I know I'll have "monsters" replying with stupid remarks like "okay bye" or "you'll be missed, with a stupid emoticon." It's quite horrid, yes, her label does control main parts of her career but they still respect her vision. I mean ARTPOP as a whole is something all labels would probably turn down and no other artists can ever think that way. What is, is. Just ****ing appreciate the passion she's put into this for us.

i know, im mad about venus but i respect gaga and DWUW is amazing so ..

People here are having meltdowns about everything... so that doesn't count.

Whats so risky about Sexxx Dreams? It can still be changed into Love Dreams or Blurred Dreams.

And Aura... one Song of the Album that will never be released.

Jewels&Drugs with 3 Rapper isnt risky at all btw

I just feel super bad for GaGa...imagine the pressure she has now to reinvent a whole 'single' era, plan a whole new video really quickly, replan the x factor performance, etc etc etc. She has to learn/create teh new choreo, makeup, costumes. Why does interscope have to be so no.1 hungry...they cannot possibly predict that venus won't do the same. Sigh.

But happy we're still getting the Venus video and it's release on itunes.

I understand where you're coming from. However, I believe Interscope is making the right decision here. "DWUW" has already received near universal praise. Releasing Venus as a single next week would probably just confuse the public. Also, first and foremost, Interscope is a business. They're not going to pull the plug on a song that is pretty much already a hit.

I think this is beyond genius. Everyone was so happy that DWUW was slaying. Do you want this album to slay OR NOT??! Now it will have a video, and I'm willing to bet it will be epic. Let's not forget (I was born in '84) R. Kelly was a huge huge deal in the 90's and has managed to stay relevant. The GP will eat this video up. Radio will love it. She needs this DESPERATELY. The last thing the public wants from her is obscure lyrics. They want a hit... And this is it. We haven't even heard Venus. She cares about us. We still get the song. We still get the video. Maybe (MAYBE) it will slay, too. If we care about Gags and her career as much as we all are assumed to, please realize that without success, everything slowly goes to hell, public stops caring, sticks fingers in ears... And all that's left is monsters arguing about single choices, but no one else gives a ****.

I am thrilled. I want her to dominate. Don't you? Don't you??!!

Yes, the meltdowns do count because it means people don't like the risks that she's taken. That's kind of how a risk works. And the fact that people are "having meltdowns about everything" just proves how many risks she's taken this era.

Sexxx Dreams is risky because it's not an EDM club pop banger produced by Dr Luke. It deviates from the current trend, and that's a risk.

And whether or not Aura is released as a single or not is irrelevant. At the end of the day it's being put on her album, people are going to hear it and that's going to affect what people think of her. Aura being on the album is a risk in itself.

Wait until you hear the album in it's entirety before you think GaGa isn't taking any risks

Replacing a song that was supposed to be an official single with a promo single (even tho it's smashing right now) is pretty risky in and of itself

Just have faith in GaGa. There's nothing we can do to change minds so that's the best way we can help her. Have faith and support :)

I DO CARE because BORN THIS WAY was an absolute mess after the first single, that label ****ed her up completely..... I have hated that label ever since judas' release.....

they haven't handled a single thing lady gaga well at all, I mean literally at all after born this way the single

and yes they did want bad romance to not be a single and wanted boys boys boys to be the single, and they didn't want TFM to have it's covers....

IMO. Her label is going to **** her up this time. BTW singles were a huge hit. I feel like her label is taking more control this time around with more safe singles.

I find it really interesting that theres 3-4 more people credited for ARTPOP song lyrics than her early records. Which normally had her and maybe a person or two. Now there's like 4-5 people writing with her.

If anything. I feel like Gaga had more control over BTW.

Oh now Dr. Luke controlls the mainstream charts? I see... please just stop. I like Sex Dreams but its safe as its gets.

And why exactly is Aura so risky?

And the meltdowns dont count here at all, cause we are not the GP.
