As soon as I heard this I thought this is what I expected when I thought of Venus and I thought it was such a gaga hit. Applause and DWYW doesn't really sound like a gaga song and I picture someone else singing them but Venus is so unique, bizarre, cool, fresh, and has that gaga flare to it. The verses, pre-chorus and chorus are all equally distinctive and very catchy. EXACTLY. but ppl r judging this based on just a verse, is it fair to judge applause based on just a verse? the song is how it is because of the whole thing.. Some of you are trying to explain why garden panty isn't bizarro by comparing it with the rah rah's of bad romance, "bluffin with my muffin", the line about the koons in applause, etc. --- not convinced. Some words are just awkward, especially for music... Especially when paired with random adjective. Let me see if I can think of some. Sugar taint, daisy steakhouse.... Garden panty!!!! Idk. I'm going to get used to it. I just don't think it was intended to be funny, yet too *cringe* to take seriously. And honestly, minus this, I LOVE the snippet. Up for debate whether it's okay to reference your own invented look in your song, but Gaga's very intratextual with herself anyway, and I think it's a fun line on all levels.
