Alvaro 5
I think the album cover is very beautiful and has pretty colors, and that's all that should matter in the end. Just because it's Gaga or because it was sculpted by the amazing Jeff Koons doesn't mean we should be over-a--lyzing it. Some works of art are just meant to be admired for what they actually are and not for what they seem to be. Even Jeff has stated this in the past, none of his work is meant to have any deep meaning. Free My Mind 2,180
Oh really It's far from obvious to me. The black-and-white and color ****, what is that? :toofloppy: how is the black and white/colour thing not obvious... are you blind? All the comparisons make sense to the cover. and as for your point about checking someones claims... you're well within your right to do so. However, personally I'm more likely to agree with someone who has studied Art and is a well experienced and worthy art critic over a random person who posts on an internet forum. GagaSlayedYou 2
Glad that Gaga's work is appreciated. And it's nice to read about the different conceptions of the references, which this expert uses to justify his oppinion. And, I'd find greater if some users respect other. Just because an art reviewer says something, its not an obligation to like sth.

Bad 32
I can't believe NME wrote this. The cover is so amazing that even the haters have to praise it
mAnster 26
I love that Gaga is choosing to work with Jeff Koons. They have the exact same reputations in their respective communities. FAKE. FRAUD. REDUCTIVE. BRAINLESS. It's perfect! Koons is known for being looked down on in the art community. So is Gaga. She's the Koons, the Koons is her. Perfection. littlemtyrese 0
This review is a MESS. His references don't make any sense most of the time, he's basically praising it for the copying of innovations of previous artists. I don't trust it. Jeff Koons is not well liked among art critics. The Warhol and Emin references are hilarious It's just delusional, I'm sorry. He can't even spot the sculpture that's in the black and white part of the cover. He clearly wrote this in five minutes or he's just being satirical or something, since NME hates Gaga. Where is the sinister and darker? I honestly just felt he was saying things cause the words felt funny to say, unless he is speaking about the Portrait of Koon's and his ex wife. But really... Just LOOK at the comparisons he's making. Google them and you will know that they don't make sense. You don't need an art degree to check the claims of someone else. He studied art you didn't sorry!! S3xdreams 0
I love the cover. I think it's amazing. The only bit that annoys me, and I'm sure I'll get over it, is the way ARTPOP is written on the ball.
Nagini 179
so ridiculous. so just because this guy studied art, means that his opinion, in default, is "better" than anybody else's? i don't need a degree in art to claim whether i like an image or not. people dont have to love+appreciate an image just because a person with an art degree loves it.. we're our own people with different tastes. He studied art you didn't sorry!!

That's true, everyone can have an opinion, but for the same reason that you just mentioned, those who don't like the cover have to respect that this person liked it. Some people are trying to discredit the reviewer and make it seem like he doesn't know what he's talking about at all, when his credentials say otherwise. It's not a matter of whose opinion is more valid. This person is not a random guy they picked from the street to review something.
