I love it......but Jeff really needs to remove the studio reflection in the gazing ball. It's unappealing and looks tacky. The font used for "ARTPOP" needs to change too.

PLEASE JEFF CHANGE THEM BEFORE RELEASE. PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE.  :ohno:

I LOVE it! The reflection in the Gazing Ball has a motif. Statue > Birth of Art & Pop > Consumed by audience. Photography is Art, this cover is PERFECT.

Gaga should make the gazing ball on the cover reflective so when you hold the album you can see yourself.

That would be so awesome.

It's a sculpture of Apollo and Daphne (greek mythology, just like Aphrodite/Venus), a user here posted the pic used for the black & white parts in this thread already ;)

"When Phoebus (Apollo), fated by Cupid's love-exciting arrow, sees the maiden daughter of Peneus a river god, he is filled with wonder at her beauty and consumed by desire. But Daphne has been fated by Cupid's love-repelling arrow and denies the love of men. As the Nymph flees he relentlessly chases herâ€â€boasting, pleading, and promising everything. When her strength is finally spent she prays to her father Peneus:

'Destroy the beauty that has injured me, or change the body that destroys my life.' Before her prayer was ended, torpor seized on all her body, and a thin bark closed around her gentle bosom, and her hair became as moving leaves; her arms were changed to waving branches, and her active feet as clinging roots were fastened to the groundâ€â€her face was hidden with encircling leaves.[5]

Phoebus loved the graceful tree, clung to it and kissed the wood:

But since thou canst not be my spouse surely thou shalt be my tree. Thee O laurel my hair, thee my lyres, thee my quivers shall always have ... And as my head is youthful with unshorn locks, do thou likewise wear always evergreen honours of foliage. The laurel nodded assent with its branches lately made[6]"

I don't know that sculpture, is it Bernini? The Rape Of Proserpina made me fall in love with the italian baroque. His Medusa is just everything, not familiar with this one but it looks like his work.

Anyway, I'm in love with the cover. After all she's done, I still can't believe how big she sees things.

It just makes me excited for the music really, all her covers depict pretty amazingly how the music is gonna sound. It gives the tone of the album, and the vibe this gives me is just fearless pop with a surreal depth. The respect of tradition while breaking all the rules. A classical pop record that is just unhibited fun while still serving substance and dimension.

I'm somewhat hoping the gazing ball with be reflective in physical format. That's what is great about Jeff's gazing ball series, you becoming part of it. They could not edit it out in the picture because it would take off all the authenticity of the experience. That introspective aspect that is, as we know, a big part of the music as well.

Argh, I love it so much. ART and POP can have a conversation. I like that lines seem to cut everything everywhere, you don't know where to look and it becomes fascinating. You don't have one perspective that draws your eye to something. Everything breaks and it just looks beautiful and inviting. The little white/blank star intrigues me, which is probably the point. There could be so many meanings for it, I won't even start to go there, I would probably end up embarassing myself (again). :flop:

I know right ...  I feel a little bit guilty cuz some fan changed It just a bit and I liked It better, but I also love the original cover, and people saying "Please change It"  are you stupid or what ? This was the official release of the cover there will be no changes :rip:

I really like it now that I've had time to get used to it. I'm even kind of a fan of the pink lol (font choice is still terrible tho)

Why do I feel like the album cover looks like a cover of a book to me? Or a magazine? haha maybe because there's a lot happening on the album cover? but it's really art and pop no doubt.
