Dayman 5,989
I give it a nine. It would be a ten if the font was like this in the real thing.
SmileUHooker 0
This photo of Bernini's "Apollo and Daphne" matches the black and white background almost perfectly.

BornSimon 4,800
This photo of Bernini's "Apollo and Daphne" matches the black and white background almost perfectly. That's it, great find! Could this be why Gaga referred to ARTPOP as a tree? Daphne turned into a tree after all... Reaching? :haha: Edited October 8, 2013 by BornSimon
Lorde 0
The font ruins the cover, and the background looks cheap and messy. Would have been amazing had it just been the statue.
FrozenEyes 0
I feel it's equivalent to the Born This Way cover. digitalized face pic pasted on a motorcycle = naked statue of her with a Christmas tree ornament hiding her vagina. Doesn't hold a candle TF, TFM, or the remix BTW album. I think I'd prefer one of the ARTPOP promo pics LIke her sitting in the chair or wearing the visor...or even the Applause single cover. Oh well.... At least I know what's inside will be good.
popart13 2
*Saves to use as cover art* It seriously looks so much better like this. The statue is way too spectacular to be surrounded by a collage like it is. This really makes it the focus, and it's beautiful. That's the point of it though! Mixing the beauty of the sculpture with outrageous font and background Art meets Pop Also the statue reminds me of this for some reason
SKANK 14,288
I don't know, I think that's kind of unfair. You can literally stop every second of the video of Applause and have it be a memorable photograph...that really says a lot. You just don't really seem to be liking anything from Gaga this era, which is fine, but idk....you said before how Applause wasn't a quality song because it couldn't be redone by other musicians, yet a few months later we had tons of videos of piano, guitar, piano, and violin versions of the song. Not to mention elite college halftime shows covered 'Applause' and her other hits as well. And I may not be crazy about the cover, but I still think it's memorable and that she took a nice risk. And you were slightly hypocritical in your a--lysis by saying the gazing ball & statue were cool, but later saying it's basically just Minaj & a cheap lawn ornament? Not trying to be rude, but I just don't see consistency there? I personally love the statue and gazing ball, however, I wish the background and text were a little less messy. You are right, everything that has been officially released for the ARTPOP "era" I have found to be very lackluster. Applause is really a mediocre song in every regard, and the cover for the album is forgettable. The early promotional images she released were beautiful, and some of the songs she has performed live seem promising. But I don't think anything we have heard so far is what I would consider boundary pushing, and if there is a pop star who can and should push boundaries it is Lady Gaga. I'm bummed. Kevbev 377
I'm so relieved !!! I LOVE IT !!! I REPEAT : I LOVE THE NEW ALBUM COVER !!! Everything works well I believe, the thing I love the most is the font she distorted, a copy/paste to make something different, just like what the album seems to sound like + her art direction too. This cover feels so fresh and new, this is what I needed from her. I wasn't a fan of the idea when the fans talked about when she showed them the cover (the "birth" thing), I was afraid it would look too...vulgar. But it's classy in her way. The statue is amazing, and OMG the hair looks so good ! I tried something else, more simple (and quick of course), here it is : I actually really like this edit. It's so simple. I was hoping the cover would look something more along the lines of this.

Yeah, I feel the same way sometimes. Like part of me kind of despises the cover, but then another part of me kind of loves it, but idk if that's because I'm subconsciously forcing myself to like it just because it's GaGa. Like what did the images from the beginning of the era have to do with anything? I hope everything starts coming together soon.
