If all this is happening because Gaga does not want to change her creative vision then I think it is great, I applaud her! She is an amazing artist if all this (songs, videos, performances) is her own creation. It means she is so talented and puts so much effort and do not change her mind just because someone said it's not good, she sticks to her ideas and is confident. And art is subjective. I think that she does not need to be number one superstar. Lets leave it for Katy or Miley or Rihanna, who just make music as factories make biscuits (same things made without effort, love and dedication, just MASS PRODUCTION). We should let Gaga to do what she loves the most, because she is great and talented artist. I love her the way she is and if some of you want Gaga to be number one on everything you just may leave this fanbase and enjoy being Katy's fan, who will give you a video full of rainbows and candies without any deep meaning and be number one all over the world. I prefer Gaga being number 49 or whatever and sticking to her artistic vision than Gaga being number 1 but manufactured and not real to herself. I became Gagas fan just because I love the pure artist in her. Hope my post makes sense. Like I said many times in this thread, I feel that the problem is not her vision, is the way she refuses to get proper directors to help her make it real, big and interesting. There was like 35421321x ideas at once which translated to a giant mess. A very beautiful and cool mess but still mess. It's like putting colors in glass. U put blue and yellow and see green, then in another glass put blue and red and u see purple....thne u think "that's so cool what will happen if I mix them together" and u put the blue,yellow, red, green and purple in one glass....and u see black. Once two ideas are mixed and then u mix them with another 2 ideas, they start to blur and u miss the main point. That's something she should focus on. Agreed, sometimes Gaga could benefit from the KISS principle (keep it simple smarty). But a lot of her best works involve complexity and overdoing it. (Bad Romance song, Telephone video). Sometimes it's brilliant, sometimes a little off. But that's her artistic personality. Enough of her fans love it that they'd call her lazy and boring if she tried ultra-simple. Zedd often said NO to Gaga and that's how, he feels, they've created some really good songs together. Zedd also said that when Gaga said no to him sometimes, it was also the first time it happened to him. BUT that's what made their creative process and potential of the songs great. So you're inadequate by assuming that everyone says yes all the time to Gaga cause it is false. I also read that Madeon said no on many of Gaga's ideas too soo chill, enjoy the music, stop over-a--lyzing and i am so done with people considering themselves ''FANS or STANS'' for Gaga but are always criticizing her every move.. like Gaga says: 'People need to lighten up about music and the entertainment business'' . Truth 90 Posted October 3, 2013 Share Posted October 3, 2013 yeah thats what i mean, shes been writing just mindless fun pop tunes all because of fans like this, like fans who make threads that shes become self centered, or that shes fading, or that they want her to slay again, all those generic tunes shes been making for an album that was suppose to be called ARTPOP, because she wanted to plese you guys. months ago, people where cringing at the idea of anything being dark or controversial, but now that its worked for a new comer with a good girl image to shed, everyones pulling at straws at ways gaga can reclaim her spot as top provacateur. im not the one discussing her fading, at all, its everyone else whose creating this false aura of decay that is not even there right now. when everyone gets a ****ing grip and starts caring about whats important, then ill stop having to defend her. I agree with you, because I personally believe that the worst thing she actually does (I don't criticize it tho) is to rely on her fan's opinions (which are very various as we know, people have different tastes). Until she wants to please everybody (what is impossible), she will possibly fail. Artists do what they feel, not what they are told. When you make an art to give others what they want, it's not an art, more like a craft (depends on how good it is anyway, sometimes even craft can be a masterpiece, anyway but nowadays usually it's a repetitive generic crap). But it's just my personal opinion, and I don't mean Gaga's work is not art. Art is subjective. And as she said the era hasn't even started, so it's a way too early to panic and to discuss topics like this. I believe in her, and I'm sure she will deliver. Excuse her for knowing what kind of artist she is and making stuff that SHE loves. Take that away from her, and she's just an average artist. I completely disagree with this. Most artists have egos & most are very difficult & want things done their way. People need to understand that by being a Gaga fan who is an actual artist, she's gonna do things that we don't understand. I'm not saying everything she does is amazing or artistic because ill be delusional. But she works her ass off to expose us to **** we didn't even know & artistically expresses herself unlike any popstar today. She's gonna always be different, have an ego & do things that "don't make sense" it's all apart of being a Gaga fan, because if everything she did was accepted by the GP and made sense, well then she'll be Katy Perry. She's so over-reliant on her own thoughts and confusing processes and lately it just hasn't been translating into anything 'edible' for the fans or GP, and I suppose some fans kid themselves into thinking it's spectacular when in fact it's messy. She has some amazing ideas, but she doesn't necessarily execute them in the correct way. That's why TF/TFM was so special, because they were executed by professionals. Agreed. I honestly feel like she has so much talent and so many ideas that her work doesn't always seem so clear/cohesive. I feel like it's sometimes hard for her to put all of her ideas together to form a smooth music video or performance. Does that make sense? For example, Katy Perry lacks the imagination of GaGa, but this actually works for her because her content is simple and basic. It's planned out correctly. GaGa sometimes does need professional help, whether that means hiring accomplished directors for her music videos and performances, just like other great artists have (Madonna, Michael Jackson -> all used great directors for their work), or asking for advice with her image in general. I know many of you will say she's just expressing herself, but in order to be extremely successful in this business you have to create clear and consistent work.
