Nick 29
And I agree with this as well. Haha all of my friends always sing the Applause parts & then mumble the rest and say, "What?? We don't know what she's actually saying!" One second I'm a.... what?

Nick 29
What is wrong with all of us So just keep that in mind. The world of charts and pop music stans could not be more irrelevant to public opinion.
Marco 731
I can't believe we do it all over again with Venus next week. I wonder if it's going to be as stressful It's going to be even more stressful But if it wasn't it'd be boring and this thread would be dead so I don't care. Ozzy8923 9
Has it occured to you guys though how irrelevant charts are to the GP? I was just thinking about that the other day. If there's one thing the public doesn't give a single F*CK about, it's the nitty-gritty pop music charts. :rip: A lot of people don't even know what Billboard is/does. It's fun for stan war receipts doe. Well, fun for those whose faves are actually doing well on BB. For me tho...

If there's one thing the public doesn't give a single F*CK about, it's the nitty-gritty pop music charts. :rip: A lot of people don't even know what Billboard is/does. Yeah, it doesn't make a huge difference, other than being promoted by the media. A lot of people I know who do not follow the Billboard charts think songs like Thriller and Bad Romance were #1 hits due to their longevity and immense popularity. However, if they want a good introduction in the press, getting those #1 hits is a must. The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey - and all those who accumulated more than a dozen HOT 100 #1s greatly benefitted from it in making an appealing legacy. Americano 31,061
Gaga will never be like that though. She's a Top 10 artist, not a chart topper. It's a fantasy the media created about her in 2009 that has held ever since.

True, but I don't think it necessarily NEEDS to be number 1 hits. Accumulating a significant amount of top 5 or top 10 hits could be just as appealing as a nice introduction in the press. And a lot of legendary artists barely have any top 10 hits, so....
