Arturo 40,746
Maybe The Fame was the exception in her career and her "normal" from now on will actually be a 2x platinum top 10 artist. Considering the quality of the music she's producing as a top 10 artist, I don't see how that's a problem. The quality of Applause is definitely a factor in its success or lack of to some of us with high expectations. Basic music always slays, and with verses like the ones Applause has, I think it's safe to say it isn't basic. Unfortunately, there is no operational definition for "basic". As in, the "basicness" of a song cannot be measured and we can't PROVE that Applause is less basic than other songs, although we know it is.
