It seems more relatable (i know people hate that word) + Applause was gaga's big test to the GP, it caught the attention of many and made people fall for her again. Now that people are more open with gaga and if Venus is really good, I think she has a good chance. I honestly feel like any lead single was bound to get crucified in some way. Like now that gaga has begun to regain casual fans I think that she will be able to get better sales with the next song.
