It's still growing, and killing it ahead of time would only shorten the entire ARTPOP era. There's no reason to release a second single until Applause has completely stalled or starts declining. nick4bty 2,758 Posted October 9, 2013 Share Posted October 9, 2013 I'm starting to think I may prefer the 28th as the second single release date because it's closer to the Youtube Awards. The closer the performance then the more likely she is to retain her spot higher on iTunes. I think the 28th is best because a) Applause will definitely be declining by then, b) she'll be able to promote it and the album at the same time, and c) Katy's releasing the week before (and possibly releasing her second single next week), so her buzz will be faded and Gaga's second single can basically shoot to the top.
