Fallon and Kimmel usually do good things for their performers, and Fallon has sung Applause (jokingly) and referenced it numerous times on his show. It's still growing, and killing it ahead of time would only shorten the entire ARTPOP era. There's no reason to release a second single until Applause has completely stalled or starts declining. Everyone, keep requesting I understand wanting Applause to have succes, which it already has, but don't you want the second single to succeed? Also, it is doing amazing on the radio, it will outpeak BTW and possibly even more! I just see the number for last weeks sales (109K) is equal to the Mediabase AI (109m); once that ratio becomes =1 it suggests the song is starting to struggle to sell despite the airplay.
