pie-kun 1,765
I always thought this whole Britney situation was really weird. She's under a conservatorship, which according to Wikipedia means: "Conservatorship is a legal concept in the United States of America, where a guardian and protector is appointed by a judge to manage the financial affairs and/or daily life of another due to physical or mental limitations, or old age." So, Britney's been determined not to be mentally competent enough to have control of her own money, yet she's apparently okay enough to release music, be a judge on a TV Show, tour around the world and basically put herself in the spotlight, which is what contributed so much to her mental health issues in the first place? That makes no sense to me.
justalovegame 0
It really is a shame, because Warrior is way better than A/C lol. But Kesha was the "in" thing then. The buzz was driving album sales. Die Young was a huge hit, but she had no buzz going into her album. And the promotion was terrible from the getgo. I like K$ but damn everything went wrong in her case. After the shootings in December and radio banning DY, C'mon started getting airplay. Then radio picked up DY again a while after the "ban" whilst Cmon was still being played. She released the video and the week after it premiered Billboard decided to add YT streamns into the H100. Just a mess all over. To make matters worse, her promo failed extensively too lmao. DY had a lot of potential left but that radio ban destroyed it. Angry Birds 0
poor kesha, I think Thinking of you should be her 4th single.. the line "I heard our song on the radio, And I see your face everywhere I go" will let it explode on the radio, I'll sure gp will like it. #justiceforwarrior
Mills 446
I blame Will.i.am. I think it's the terrible production that killed the song. It sounds like a remix It actually does. It was a risky choice, and they failed. Too bad, have it been another Dr. Luke / Max Martin produced track, Britney would have continued her #1 lead singles streak since 2009. I'm just glad that it at least did WAY better than the latest lead singles of her contemporaries from early 2000s.
Arturo 40,746
I still remember the kworb updates for Die Young when it was given the ban. -9M updates galore. It was crazy.

I mean, it's not like that would have helped her much lol. Ke$ha is not known for huge streaming. Tik Tok remains her only video to crack 100M on YouTube, the others don't even come close (her next closest is YLIMD, which is at 63M).

DY had a lot of potential left but that radio ban destroyed it. Yeah, Die Young was getting pulled in droves by radio stations, so RCA sent C'mon to stations basically in DY's place. But then DY stopped bleeding and leveled off on radio for pretty much the entire time C'mon was charting, so some stations were playing C'mon, but others were still spinning DY. Which limited C'mon's growth on radio. What a ****ty situation. lol. And then C'mon died and DY was still getting decent spins. And then Crazy Kids came and made no impact. Poor Ke$ha
Mills 446
i don't know how S&S smashed while Wb---h is flopping S&S has a strong chorus for everyone to jam to. I cannot say the same for WorkB. The title alone isn't something everyone would want to sing with.

Arturo 40,746
The radio ban was probably one of the dumbest things to ever happen. People putting the blame and their anger on a pop song? Saying Kesha supported the shooting? ugh I don't think anyone really said that. It's just that people didn't want to hear about "dying young" every second on the radio. The majority of people just thought the lyrics were insensitive but never actually put the blame on Kesha herself.

Tik Tok remains her only video to crack 100M on YouTube, the others don't even come close (her next closest is YLIMD, which is at 63M). I know but it got like 15M views its first week (and then plummeted afterwards lol). That definitely would have boosted it on the h100 to even a Top 15 position but oh well. The radio ban was probably one of the dumbest things to ever happen. People putting the blame and their anger on a pop song? Saying Kesha supported the shooting? ugh That was just awful and turned people away from the song and probably her. Radio was in such an awkward position at the time and you can't really blame the stations for playing DY less. The USA is a sensitive country.
