You must realize that with singles you show who you are and you promote your album, your image and your tour. Gaga needs songs that have crossover appeal as much as possible to have higher sales, gross, fame. With a song like Sex Dreams you ruin your image a little bit. Another #1 the power of the fanbase and the crosovers with radio stations because a Rihanna is featured will make it a smash. It could also make the ARTPOP era's momentum hit the roof. Yes, not to mention that this will relieve many monsters from their stress at Gaga not smashing as much as Katy a huge hit would push her back to pop stardom as much as during TFM. To be honest she should do this only if she wants to, I'm happy with her being this moderately successful without annoying anyone anyone who doesn't want more Gaga. Oh, now I got your point, You are right, but we are arguing because I on the other hand believe that Sex Dreams is a perfect crossover song Well I suggest we can wait and see what 2nd single they'll release and how well It will do, cuz we can never predict what will happen ... It would do worse than Applause, I am sure in it! Don't get me wrong, I love the song, but I also loved Highway Unicorn and Teeth and that doesn't mean they should have been singles!! You have to restrict what Gaga fans are crazy about and what the rest of the world thinks! Because it is not enough for Gaga fans to like a song for it to become a smash! Now imagine ARTPOP's flawless music, mid-tempo that puts you in a relaxed state, and her angelic voice singing ARTPOP, ARTPOP, artpooooop. It surely won't flop and if it flops we know it's a very good song and we can excuse its performance and blame it on people not understanding real music. a win-win situation. You must know that: ARTPOP is the most hyped track next to Ratchet (which aint happening). It IS the car song after all. It's the title track which would almost guarantee its' success It's a magical track, the whole song is magical. I am sure it will do better than Applause see how it can go both ways? :p Seriously, though, I think ARTPOP will smash because it's a great song, period. Not because I'm a Gaga fan. When I heard it it felt like hearing DIDT or TEOG for the first time and we all know that TEOG smashed and could have smashed harder with a proper video. It's just good music and the public is always there for good catchy music. ARTPOP is all of this. inb4 ARTPOP and SD flop like MTN tbh they both could flop. Or they both could be great hits.
