nick4bty 2,758
YouTube streaming plays too much of a role in BB Hot 100. Bad Romance would have went #1 and Judas would have stayed on the chart longer. And Marry The Night maybe could have gotten a top 20 peak. If they would have done this 3-4 years ago, Gaga could have so much more of a track record :( Judas probably would've been #1, all three TFM singles would have been, MTN probably would've gone Top 10. It just hurts

Magoo 6
Noooooooo not the fox over applause on hot 100 please kill me That's because streaming is the dominant factor on the Hot 100 top 10. Streaming is only worth 25-30% or so for the Hot 100 overall but probably works out more like 50% for the top 10 with radio and sales sharing the other 50%. That's the mathematical consequence because streaming has a bigger variance (a few songs hog high streaming) than radio and sales which are more evenly spread out. By a--logy think of when a talent show has a judging panel, and two of the judges always give 5,6,7 or 8 and the third judge gives 1's and 10's. The third judge will have more say about the winner even if the average score he gives is lower.

Freddy 4,421
that 'Pour it up' video....... I wonder why Death Jam released it 9 months after the song was sent to radios, perfect promo plan as usual Also I did not expect Applause to be #9. Hopefully it will stay into the top 10 next week and then It can slowly die in peace.
TEANUS 15,770
Marry The Night would have probably peaked at Top 10. It would have!? I never realized it had that many views to do that. :( British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS
Alchemist 0
Could Applause be back at #6 tomorrow? lol If those countinue to fall like a rock, I'd say yes.
PdogtheDaibutsu 717
So let me get this straight, applause has been in the top 10 on iTunes for the whole week, has decent streaming, and increases in radio, yet billboard DROPS IT TO NUMBER 9? wtf is with billboard? Blues 0
Drake being #4 seriously makes no sense at all. Billboard should just share the formula because the formula used on atrl (which has worked out perfectly every single week, even this week for everyone except Drake) makes it impossible for it to be above Avicii. They didn't even say how much he sold. We know it was below 99k because he wasn't top 10 on digital songs, and it probably was much lower than that because of his huge album sales which should have given a pretty big Complete my album effect. Drake: Radio: 120 million Streams: 5,7 million Sales: Avicii: Radio: 117 million Streams: 4,6 million Sales: 182k

We keep boosting the expectations "100M AI" "Make it till October" "Last Top 10 for a month" "50 days on iTunes" now it's 8 weeks. :P I don't mind, just funny. At least we're hoping for 8 weeks in the Top 10, not like 1 day like Xtina Aguileirrelevant

Redstreak 6,653
I have a feeling there won't be anymore strict Applause promo. I think at this point they are kinda wanting it to just slowly go away and mainly serve as a "hey I'm back, get ready" single. Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~
