Applause has an impact at least here in our country.

People use it as a background music in some tv shows esp. talent shows here.

You must be kidding. I truly believe that some people are so miserable. Album sales, tour and grammys are ONLY? You act like your fave is Selena.. Gaga still has huge impact globally and is the current BIGGEST NAME in music worldwide. So she may not sold lot for lead single but that does not mean that she is done. 

I guess Im just thinking of the US. If Katy outsells her in albums and singles this era then I think people will argue that she  is bigger in the US. I didn't mean to suggest she is done. I didn't phrase that very well. I should have said Gaga still has her beat in tours and Grammys, and those are more important. When you take every thing together Gaga is still the bigger and more important artist.
