Mariano 958
IKR, who knows, they might think 'oh yes I actually like Venus, wait I like DWYW and Jewels N' Drugs and DOPE too! Wait I might as well just buy the whole album!' yes exactly, and people may also like PRISM's tracks but the point is that they came out long time ago, and by the time the full album is out, a lot of people may be already bored by these tracks and not bother buying the album .. who knows '-' I've always thought that 2 weeks of enormous hype are better than 2 months of hype ... Ozzy8923 9
What numbers did BTW pull in the first 6 weeks to compare? 1,110,420 169,387 (-85%) 105,742 (-38%) 68,935 (-35%) 49,333 (-28%) 38,690 (-22%) TOTAL: 1,542,507. ARTPOP will certainly benefit tremendously by being released in the fall season. Won't really suffer any considerable drops besides the second week and the week after New Years. Nick 29
With TRADITIONAL leaks, people click a link, ACTUALLY DOWNLOAD THE CONTENT, and often never buy it. The content is sitting on their computer for free. With a STREAMED leak on iTunes, people listen on the internet, and there is a "Pre-Order" button just a click away. Will a lot of people click it? Probably not, but what's certain is that when people click the ILLEGAL DOWNLOAD button via tumblr or some other website, there is often a 0% chance the content will be purchased. Bt1 5,213
I think putting out promo singles quickly before the Album release is smarter than with PRISM putting out promo singles month before the album because for example, some people may really like Venus and DWYW and after 2 weeks the album will be out and they can buy It you know, while with PRISM, they might have really liked Dark Horse and WOA but after 1 month people will be already pretty tired of these songs and may not even bother buying the album you know ... In the same way you could say that Swinefest was a bad idea.
Americano 31,061
If you get tired of music in like 2 weeks, damn, its gonna be a LONG wait until Gaga's next album. Youd better enjoy these promo releases etc while you can
GagaMyBlood95 9,915
Katy did it too, Gaga is doing it...You see, they just want to prevent the leaks to harm their sales as much as possible, even if that means to give us the music earlier... Mariano 958
In the same way you could say that Swinefest was a bad idea. It's not the same ... the Swine fest was watchet mostly by fans ... And even If the GP watched It, they listened to the songs like once I am sure they don't even remember them now .. while when you buy a song, most of the times you listen to it a lot

Youd better enjoy these promo releases etc while you can well me for example I'd never get tired of music so fast (because If I buy something = I like It) But a lot of people that are casual listeners can buy a song by Gaga (for exmaple because It has T.I. on IT and If they don't like It they can listen to It only like 5 times etc... ) I am talkin about the GP . . . I am even kinda tired of Aura for example already .. Imagine someone from the GP

There's at least a chance they'll buy because it's directly there.
Nick 29
Exactly. There's at least a chance they'll buy because it's directly there. With an illegal download, the chance is basically zero.
