Yeah, if Do What You Want has a slow start ... Eek. I hope that doesn't bode poorly for Venus. Hard to compare though since it won't be on radio.

BUT the Beats commercial is already airing on TV. I saw it earlier.

yes I was talkin more about the pre order effect, I can't wait to see what will happen ... I was so surprised when I saw Katy's songs in top 3 :O

Guys can you explain to me how this Itunes Streaming works .. why It isn't bad for the album sales ? Or It Is ? How can It helps for more album sales  ? I am kinda worried about the streaming (although If the album leaks 1 week earlier It'd better be on Itunes for stream u know .. )

Okay, so I just wanted to share my ARTPOP predictions.

I predict 500K first week. I don't think that's a stretch at all, honestly. Industry sources were predicting 450K and that was before she announced the 3 promo singles, Venus, the premiere of the Beats commercial, and the album iTunes stream. Needless to say, she'll also be promoting the record the week of the release.

I did predictions for the first 7 weeks of its chart performance. Basically the entire fall season and the first week of the 2014 charting year.

W1: 500K.

W2: 125K (-75%) BTW had an 85% drop, so I predict this one will have a healthier, more common and TOTALLY normal drop of about 75%. The more frontloaded the sales, the bigger the drop.

W3: 163K (+30%) Black Friday sales effect.

W4: 204K (+25%) Christmas boom begins.

W5: 214K (+10%) Christmas boom continues.

W6: 220K (+2%) Final week of Christmas booms, percentage increase is smaller at this point.

W7: 55K (-75%) HUGE drop after New Years. VERY common for all albums. Now entering the weakest selling season for albums.

Total: 1.481M

Obviously my predictions depend on all the aforementioned things happening and the actual new single doing well [which I think it will]. I personally believe Gaga's team and herself have been doing an excellent job of hyping up the album and if it does manage to scan around 1.5M in the US by the end of the year, it's safe to say their efforts were rewarded accordingly.

This would be amazing. I hope she promotes enough that your predictions are realistic :ohno:

What numbers did BTW pull in the first 6 weeks to compare?

It's better for her to preview it on iTunes than some troll leaking everything...

In the radio interviews today she said it'll be just a snippet lol

Yeah I agree. If she wanted to release a ballad it should've been Gypsy. But it prolly woulda been best to release something else like S&D or Sex Dreams.

WTF is S&D?

I think putting out promo singles quickly before the Album release is smarter than with PRISM putting out promo singles month before the album because for example, some people may really like Venus and DWYW and after 2 weeks the album will be out and they can buy It you know, while with PRISM, they might have really liked Dark Horse and WOA but after 1 month people will be already pretty tired of these songs and may not even bother buying the album you know ...

IKR, who knows, they might think 'oh yes I actually like Venus, wait I like DWYW and Jewels N' Drugs and DOPE too! Wait I might as well just buy the whole album!'
