Just from the description of Gaga it seems that VENUS is once again disco-electronic song which would benefit mostly from the TOP 40/POP format on the radio. Not that it will rely solely on TOP 40/POP, but it will be the key element of her radio start. It's not a tragedy, since all of Gaga singles rely on POP, but some of them had the chance to cross the formats. So by the time VENUS captures TOP 40, HAC might start playing it. I'm positive since we probably have at least two potential multi-format singles, which I consider SEXXX DREAMS and G.U.Y.. They are not really fast, mostly mid-tempo and really have the chance to gain attention from other formats. Sexxx Dreams yes G.U.Y. IDK ... i think Gypsy/Dope and DWYW/J&D are more likely to be the crossover hit This ! Guys this is the first time ever I am really really worrying about having too much singles material on Gaga's album Applause, Venus Then we have 2 collabs with a really big potential Sexxx Dreams - Instant Smash DOPE and GYPSY ballads I am sure they will slay us a lot G.U.Y. Already one of the most anticipated tracks Aura - Gaga's favourite and probably telephone continuation :(( Fashion! produced by Will I Am and David Guetta !? I just don't know ... I think that ARTPOP would do great on HAC/AC if it's as amazing live as it is on the album :D. Alright, I think I think this would be a great schedule: Next week - Venus, this song will be sent to Pop, Rhythmic, Spanish, HAC and AC radio. Pop is likely the only song to pick up on this song fast and I can see Venus peaking around 80-100 mil AI by the beginning of December. Applause will still be played on AC/HAC radio and will block the not so radio-friendly Venus. After Venus there will be a longer break. Main promo in Europe, Japan and the US. Small promo in Australia. End of January - Do What You Want release. Venus will have likely peaked at HAC radio by then and the radio-friendly DWYW should be released to Pop, Urban, Rhythmic, HAC, AC, Urban AC, Spanish, Latin Urban. Pop, Rhythmic, HAC and Spanish will probably pick up this song and it'll be an Applause-sized radio hit unless Urban radio suddenly supports this song which is unlikely. DWYW will be performed acoustic at the Grammies. I don't know whether DWYW is HAC-/AC-friendly but it does seem so to me. I can see this song having great longetivity due to Urban/Rhythmic stations still being a little bit scared to play Applause but eventually doing it more and more, just like Pop Radio did with Applause. This song will mainly be promoted in Australia, the US and the UK. I don't see the song doing too well in Europe. Early-June - GUY release. DWYW should've had its momentum. It's time to release GUY, this will be Gaga's biggest cross-over hit of the era. It should do great on HAC, AC, Top 40 and Rhythmic. It will likely do well in Europe too, unlike Yoü and I . I can see this being a smash, it's very catchy, has crossover appeal and is radio-friendly. This will hopefully do well over the summer. September - last single: ARTPOP to end the era. The title track is allowed to flop, but if it sounds as amazing live as on the album... this song is a huge smash and if it doesn't we can at least say it was artistic unlike your faves' singles Gaga could perform at the VMAs and at the EMAs performing the biggest hit of the album and ARTPOP.
