Of course it did; but Applause (thankfully) didn't end up being the train wreck we all thought it was going to be 24 hours after it was released. Just look at how it did in the US, Canada, Norway, Germany, Sweden, Spain, Japan, UK, Brazil... Applause didn't do badly world wide by ANY means. Everyone who says this is hiding some disappointment deep down that Applause should have sold more than it did. I love the music but the charts make me want to :pukey: . The truth of the matter is we'll only end up scraping 3 million worldwide by the end of the Applause era and beginning of Venus era.
