We have less than a month left The only announced promo we have so far is the Youtube Awards on November 3rd I can't remember who but someone posted a categorical list of her hits that I think is the best way to group and rate/assess her song's performance. At least I am trying to look at her sales objectively and not just automatically keep it within the sphere of Gaga and saying I'm satisfied with Applause. Why can't Gaga be the it girl and maintain a longevity in her career. Katy and Rihanna can do it. She has the talent and superior music to back herself up therefore I am going to root for the highest success for her and make that my ultimate expectation. But sales have nothing to do with talent. Sales have to do with name brand, and promotion, and the GP's perception of you. No amount of promotion will ever help Gaga as long as she stays true to her artistry and personal beliefs - which happens to be exactly what keeps her as the outsider in mainstream pop. Talent only takes you so far. Talent, in some ways, is subjective. Thousands of people around the world are talented... yet Katy Perry and Rihanna are on top of the world. Britney, as talentless as she is, was on top of her era. Manufactured, MANiCUREd acts have always ruled pop. Gaga is an anomaly. She isn't conventionally beautiful, her music isn't conventionally relatable, and she isn't cool the way Miley Cyrus is trying to portray herself now. In my eyes, Applause's performance is magical after what the BTW era did to her. We can stop here, though.
