Dangerous Man 9,245
maybe because Gaga's 2nd single is coming for top 3 on Itunes, and Katy's album songs could never ? but still it would be messy. 28 is the most ideal one. nick4bty 2,758
I don't want a boring ballad, I'd rather have top 10 with a song I enjoy than a #1 like Stay or that dull Pink song. What might work is a Gagaesque equivalent to Summertime Sadness Remix, which I would call a EDM ballad. You think JGMAR is dull and want Gaga to release a song like SS. Therefore your opinion is invalid Regardless, this is what people want. Stay and JGMAR were two of the biggest hits of there.

What might work is a Gagaesque equivalent to Summertime Sadness Remix, which I would call a EDM ballad. And this is exactly what I'm expecting from Madeon Something that can smash like We Found Love with improved lyrics and production.

Dangerous Man 9,245
Maybe You're Right is the only song that I liked from Bangerz and it's not even on top 100 of iTunes. The fact that the dull I Adore You is so close to be top 10 summarizes how GP is really unpredictable. Maybe Youre Right is great too, a step-up song for her. But i think it is because Adore You's lyrics are easier to relate with. "When you say you love me No i love you more When you say you need me, No I need you more" Most of the times, ppl still prefer simple lyrics. Thats why Bruno's lyrically basic songs always succeed. Bt1 5,213
How would Katy's album release impact a Gaga single release? Lol This would only help Katy. We know it from Roar, when she had so much free promo from the comparasions to Gaga.
craig 680
Regardless, this is what people want. Stay and JGMAR were two of the biggest hits of there. This is the same fallacy as thinking EVERYONE should go EDM just because Gaga and Black Eyed Peas are slaying with it in 2009. I expect Gaga and Madeon will give us something innovative sounding. Bt1 5,213
Especially a horrible radio remix. That was just horrible. Its ok and really helped the song. You can always listen to the official version if you dont like this one, but a lot of people wouldnt have know the song if it wasnt for that remix. A single and an album aren't even the same form of release, they aren't going to impact each other .. ? If Katy dropped Unconditionally the same week id understand

Luc 4,775
I keep forgetting they're on the same label... It seems so easy to me to plan single releases and promo timing. I don't know what the hell is going on. Honestly, they expected Applause to do great on its own like Born This Way (single) did, BTW had #1 for six weeks with only one promo performance. But I think that if I had to do the promo for Applause: 19 August - single release with video at GMA and 5-day long radio deal including Gaga VMA performance promo 26 August - second week with VMA performance UK&Australia/NZ release 27 August - Radio interviews with multiple UK Radio Stations 28-30 August - Performance of Applause *somewhere* in the UK 31 August - XFactor UK Performance of Applause 1 September - iTunes Festival performance of Applause 2 September - Radio interviews with US Radio Stations KIIS, Z100, KISS. 9 September - GMA performance+interview 11 September - Today Tonight (AUS) performance+interview 15 September - XFactor AUS performance 16 September - Japan physical release Throughout the week - few talk shows+2 performances+1 nightclub performance 22 September - Inkigayo (South Korean music show) 23 September - Worldwide physical release, remix EP release. 23 September - Radio interviews with KISS, Z100, KIIS. UK, Australian, Irish Radio Station. 24 September - Promo performance in Germany German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, French, Swiss Radio Interviews 26&27 September - Promo in France, 2 talk shows and a performance. 29 September - Promo performance in the UK - end of Applause era: next single will be released a week before the album release. If you want the Applause so badly, you better work b---h!
