You see, people are talking about the absolute numbers, like AI, and you are clinging to the (AI / quantity of radio stations), which is a relative measure. The game since 2009 has obviously changed, but it's not that different as you tried to present in the comparison of 2005 and 2009 number ones. The idea that we should take 20% off the APPLAUSE AI is a pure speculation at this point, unless we get a more precise info about the number of stations which are now added. I used that comparasions as an exemple. There is not such a big different situation, but its still different and you cant ignore that when you use something so relative as AI peak to show that Applause is a bigger radio hit than other Gaga songs. If that can get ARTPOP back in the Top 20 of US albums, Applause afloat in the Top 10, and Aura itself in the Top 10 in about 30-40 countries then I'll be happy. However in Aus, i think it's safe to say it flopped there.
