Ozzy8923 9
I still think Work Bitch will go Platinum, though. Look at Pour It Up's iTunes positions [just as a basis for comparison]: http://www.itunescharts.net/us/artists/music/rihanna/songs/pour-it-up/ Highest it ever got was #22. It's Platinum now. It did have a remix, though, but that didn't really add that many sales to the main version.
Marco 731
There's so much green in the top 20.

Mills 446
This will probably happen every year. Pop stars all have an associated image with them that can hinder sales because people are simply biased like that. New artists benefit from the fact that no one really knows who they are, so no one judges them and they don't really have haters or people who are working against them. But the pop girls have their established fan bases and radio support and GP interest, which automatically places them a tier above new artists despite said new artists ****tin' on all their singles. Agreed with all of these. I've also noticed the seemingly trouble of these new artists since 2011 successfully moving on from their breakthrough hits. And I mean, aside from Adele, who else actually became a household name since that period? Katy was a new act back in 2008. And she's still here topping the charts left and right. Gaga was seen as the rising act of 2009 and she's still here selling within the top 10. From LMFAO, Gotye, Carly Rae Jepsen, even Fun in 2011/2012, and now we have Macklemore, Robin Thicke, and perhaps even Lorde in 2013. It seems people are here more for the songs, rather than for the artists themselves. I know it's too early to judge Lorde, but what are the chances of her actually becoming the next big thing in the music industry? It's a bit unfortunate and sad that we haven't seen someone as huge as those artists who made the breakthrough in 2008/2009. Is it because the charts are already too overcrowded these days? Or people just find new songs to like to at a faster rate (making it harder for the artists to go past their breakthrough hits since newer acts would inevitably overshadow them)? Ozzy8923 9
Pour it up also did really well on urban/rhyth... Well, yes, but if Britney is selling more right now than PIU ever did then it's safe to say that she'll be fine. If anything, let's look at a more reasonable example, #Beautiful peaked at #15 on Pop [WB is at #18, not a stretch to assume that it'll outpeak it] and it also went Platinum. And it was mostly lingering in the teens/20's for most of its iTunes run.

Arturo 40,746
We'll see how Work Bitch fairs. Still 2 months until her album so I don't doubt that the 2nd single will come before the album.
Mills 446
The Fox might as well go as near as top 3. I'd be really shocked if it surpasses Roar.
Arturo 40,746
Who in their right mind would buy that incredibly stupid fox song I ask myself the same question. If you wanna laugh (although I don't know how anyone with a good sense of humor can find that funny) at the video then so be it. But who in their right mind would spend money on that crap? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Album cover going to be all over billboards #promo :haha:
