Especially these pompous 50 year old irrelevants implying women need to act a certain way. Miley is doing some good by fighting what people think of how a women SHOULD act, like wtf does that mean? Lady Gaga has done this in her work as well. i agree with you, but it's just beginning to be awkward. not because she's a woman, but because she's a public figure and a rolemodel and celebrity. i'd be equally as embarrassed if nick jonas decided to grope jennifer lopez and only wear a sparkly pink thong or something and it doesn't appear that she's doing it to make a statement. it's just like it's for controversy. If you don't want your kid seeing it, don't buy them the music or send them to the tour. It's not the star's problem that you can't parent your kids if they go to the tour anyway. The only big song during the same period was Roar, and other songs are doing moderately only. Holy Grail, despite being released earlier and having huge airplay, only sold 2m even with JT on the track, Summertime Sadness only sold 1.4m being a huge pop radio song.
