This is why I never do iTunes pre-orders. Amazon's physical pre-order is almost always cheaper, and with the AutoRip program, you automatically get the free download on the release date. iTunes is basically just a big rip off.

I'm glad the AutoRip exists because I preordered a CD from amazon a year ago and it came 3 days after the release, now I don't have to worry about getting the physical CD

This! iTunes has better quality, iTunes LP (it will have interactive content) and it comes with an app! $3 more is no big deal if its for Gags!
