I missed it.

But so much information came out of this. I think she saw that many fans were complaining from her last two non-descriptive interviews about "ARTPOP". :P

This title TEMPLE reminds me of some verses one of the most famous Romanian poets wrote. :flutter:

It's from a poem called "Lines" and there are about 6 verses that go back and forth between the Poet and the Lover.

One of the Lovers' (a her) verses goes like this:

I am a temple, you are a god,

My love.

Very beautiful poem! Do you have an English translation of it and who's the poet?

So much for the fan chosen second single :megaflop:

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Ambrosia

It's too bad she was still in some discomfort during the VMA's.  Hope she doesn't overdo it and re-injure herself.  :noparty:

He's our national poet, a High Romantic and my favorite, Mihai Eminescu

His magnum opus is called Luceafărul which translates to The Evening Star, but I found this beautiful English version in which it's translated as Lucifer (another name given to the evening star + this evening star is personified as a male imortal, so it fits)

Oh, and it's a looooong one :hehe:

I didn't find an English version of Lines :(

Buuuut...I am going to translated for you and hope to capture the poems beauty at least a tiny bit

Lines

THE POET

You are a breeze, I, a horizon,

I am a shore, you are a sea,

You are a night, I am a star,

My lover

THE LOVER

You are the day, I am the sun,

I am a butterfly, you are a flower,

I am a temple, you are a god,

My lover

You are a king, I am a queen,

I am a chaos, you, a sunbeam,

I am a harp in the wind's hand,

You are a chant.

THE POET

You are the forehead, I am the stigma,

I am a genius, you, an enigma,

I search your eyes to guess what's true

And I love you !

THE LOVER

Am I a night, a mystery

Using a pale shadow as cover,

Do I sound like a subtle sublime song

To you, my poet lover ?

Oh, all that is mystique, beloved bard,

In this heart that burns, you see,

There is nothing left belonging to me,

It is all for thee.

Thank you SO much for the information and translation of Lines!  I will have to read Lucifer in more detail--I read the first stanza and am impressed with the striking and vivid imagery!  And this is in English, it's even more beautiful in the original I bet, so no wonder he's your national poet!
