Jeff Kunst 0
And that's been more interesting than any of the interviews so far Yeah, I wonder if she did this because she knew people were disappointed with that interview a few days ago. chickennugget 0
Any chance someone can ask her (politely) to correct the line is Sex Dream that says "When I lay in bed" to "When I lie in bed" so it's grammatically correct? can she changed "think" to "thought"? no. the sentence isn't in past tense
Saltea 1
If we did that, we'd have to change "You and me could write a Bad Romance" to "You and I could write a Bad Romance," too, haha. But this time we have an opportunity to change it before the album is released. We must be proactive, people! And not just to clear up acne! ^_~ This. It kinda bothers me too... Yassss! It's okay bb. Song writers do it sometimes just to make the sound or rhyme more right, it's a song anyways. That is what you call Artistic/Artist's License :) for example the "You and me could right a bad romance" and "ooh there ain't no other way" in BTW. nobody writes songs to be grammatically correct, they'd all sound stale.  They are written using common vernacular and 90% of people in the US will say "I'm going to lay in bed" or "I'm laying in bed." Points all taken. I considered that but in this instance, the pronunciation change is so minimally different that there's really no reason for the line to not be grammatically correct. It's a single word with no specific syntax requirement that would necessitate "lay," so "lie" would both be grammatically correct with no impact on how the line is sung. :) Plus, what better way to teach the populace the correct usage with an awesome hit song like s-x dreams? can she changed "think" to "thought"? no. the sentence isn't in past tense Lay/Lie is not past tense versus present tense. Lay --> you lay objects down as in someone (you) place a book down. Lie --> You (yourself) decide to lie down. Saying "I lay down" is like saying someone grabbed you and placed you into bed. See, everyone? This is the target audience! Let's DO this! lol
emiher 2
I can't at this All this awesome music at our doorstep and you're getting hung up on a silly grammatical error It's not even that big a deal Mess

Maybe she'll hearread my cry for grammatical change? :)
Magoo 6
Grammar is defined by what people regularly use; not by what some people try to dictate by some book of rules. Gaga's lyrics are fine.

Gaga's lyrics are fine. No that's what you call vernacular and colloquialisms. Grammar has specific rules for every language, otherwise if anyone could say whatever they wanted without adherence to anything, there wouldn't have been a standard language to begin with :)

Saltea 1
But seriously, y'all. "Lay" in Sex Dreams isn't going to ruin the song for me. I mean, with the way she brilliantly delivers the lines "We're con-vic-ted criminals of thought," and "Cause we can't hide the eh-vuh-dence in our heads," it's already an amazing song as is. Lay/Lie is just a minor gripe, but since she's doing the qa via twitter, I was curious if she would consider complying. ^_~

MJ Holland 4
This title TEMPLE reminds me of some verses one of the most famous Romanian poets wrote. It's from a poem called "Lines" and there are about 6 verses that go back and forth between the Poet and the Lover. One of the Lovers' (a her) verses goes like this: I am a temple, you are a god, My love. :nick:
