Michael 533
I wonder if Russia will get booed again at all available opportunities next year. It will be interesting to see who they send. It was almost as if The Tolmachevy Twins were hand-picked by Putin himself to be the most idealistic, blonde hair blue-eyed representation of Russia that there could ever be. Bellatrix 34,639
BBC to produce 60th Anniversary Eurovision show? Belgian news website tuner.be reports that the EBU has designated the British national broadcaster BBC the task to organize a special 60th Anniversary Eurovision Song Contest show next year at the Royal Albert Hall in London with a live audience. The Belgian site goes on to report that the show will be hosted by BBC’s TV host Graham Norton and the 2013 Swedish Eurovision host Petra Mede. Former Eurovision winners Conchita Wurst (Austria 2014), Lordi (Finland 2006) and Loreen (Sweden 2012) are expected to grace the occasion, according to the Belgian website. ESCToday contacted the EBU regarding this issue and received the following statement: "There are various exciting proposals from Member Broadcasters on the table to celebrate the 60th anniversary beyond the contest in May, which are currently in the final stages of being evaluated. A decision is expected shortly, so stay tuned!" The Eurovision Song Contest will celebrate its 60th edition next year in Vienna. The Eurovision Song Contest was born on 24 May in Lugano in 1956 with a total of 7 countries battling for the grand prix: Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Germany, France and Belgium. In 2005 the Eurovision Song Contest celebrated its golden anniversary (50 years) and a special show was held in Copenhagen, Denmark.
