Staryu 6,162
I've been playing that TWIN TWIN song for almost 30 times in a row... what's happening with me? Why am I enjoying it so much? I think they have an album out. Gonna give it a try tomorrow and tell you if it's good or crap. Have you people seen the videos they uploaded on the ESC YouTube channel? Melech 9,900
Damn. Homophobic jury Austria: Azarbaijan: Jury: #23 Televoting: #3 Combined: #10 Armenia: Jury: #24 Televoting: #2 Combined: #14 Belarus: Jury: #24 Televoting: #4 Combined: #14 Georgia: Jury: disqualified Televoting: #2 Combined: #2 Poland: Jury: #19 Televoting: #4 Combined: #11 Russia: Jury: #11 (still quite high) Televoting: #3 Combined: #6 Surprise: Ukraine, Moldova and Romania aren't actually that homophobic, at least, none of their 18 jury members were. Meanwhile, San Marino had 2 homophobic jury members who placed the song in the twenties and 2 people who put it in their top 5. Honestly, the besrd did not help Conchita much at all. And like I said, EVERY country has a big gay community :) What has this to do with homophobia? Seriously when they didnt like the song it's understandable
vrx 0
Listening to him during the semi-finals, without seeing him, his voice was nothing special and I wouldn't have even batted two lashes towards it. It's a different story when you see who is singing, and that says a lot about the state of Eurovision as a whole Edit: Before I get bashed, I preferred Finland in all honesty
ItsTommyBitch 12,640
I had no idea who Conchita Wurst was until today. I saw gifs and memes of her, but i HONESTLY thought she was Kim Kardashian edited to have a beard. I didnt know what Eurovision was either. Reading this whole thread and a few others, i expected Conchita to be a crap singer who only won for the gimmick like probably 80% of this forum is suggesting. So i listened to a few countries on youtube and then i listened to Conchita Wurst's Rise like a Phoenix, expecting it to suck. BUT IT WAS AMAZING! Omg! It was theatrical as hell and idk how much "gimmick" helped in the win, but that performance was freaking legendary. Some of the posts in this forum and in this thread as rediculous. Ive already seen SO much hate on other sites and comments about how her being LGBTQ* is terrible and she shouldn't have won. I expected better. Thats why reading all of these comments i figured she was probably not even a great singer because the GP of GGD is usually more open minded :P #disappointed #Conchita4Life Calm after the Storm was def. the deserving 2nd place. That song is gorgeous, but its not as "grandiose" as rise like a phoenix IMO. 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
Luc 4,775
What has this to do with homophobia? Seriously when they didnt like the song it's understandable You don't see the pattern? in countriesvwith a lot of homophobia the jury placed her in the 20s and in countries which don't have a lot of homophobia, they placed her in the top 5. Oh wait. Transphobia I meant :derpga:

MonsterOfSpain 8,279
I'm so happy for Spain's 9th position! It's our best in over a decade, we deserved more but I was so glad to be the only ones from the Big 5 in the top 10. Poor UK, Italy and France, they didn't deserve those positions, well maybe France did.
Andy McQueen 4,484
I'm unbelievable proud (I'm austrian and I Conchita is from my town, she was at the same school as me). She had the best song, I knew she would win! <3 In your face, haters! In your face, homophobic politicans and intolerant human beings! She slayed them all. Bellatrix 34,639
Wait why was Georgia's jury disqualified? Did I miss this? So why was Georgia disqualified? No idea It feels like they cheated in some way...
mic 1,415
I hope that next year something will be changed in jury system. In all countries where Poland was no.1 in televiting, it was last in jury score. Looks like juries suspected that the song could get the votes from their country and killed it in purpose. I understand that political/diaspora voting is negative but if the song gets the first place from public, it deserves any points even just 1 symbolical point.
